Alaskan Deal is rather easy, but the plot is paper-thin. Locke has seen us repeatedly shoot our way out of desperate situations and tries to put us down with a piddling ambush. The police usually shoot criminals on sight but this time they choose to arrest the Butcher's men. Not that I play this game for that though, looking forward to the heist where we attack and murder Locke.

Akimbo shotguns are amazing with full shotty and akimbo skills. 2 full ammo bags will help ensure you keep them topped up.

Big Diamond being RNG is the one quibble I have about the classic Diamond heist. Otherwise it's a faithful recreation that removes some of the more annoying aspects of the original (eg the helicopter flying off if you're not quick enough to the escape).

A fitting end of Payday 2 and opening up three is either Locke gets away and/or in his dying breath nukes Crime.net and fucks things up royally to where we'd need to become a syndicate and world wide thing. By ripping Crime.net up, Locke fucks with the idea that Bain is untouchable. Yes, we know he's a dumbfuck and a moron, but in game, he's still apparently a big deal and super savy in the shadows crime man. You knock down crime.net, you take away his power and forces him and the crew to go into hiding to rebuild.

We don't need to have that dialogue because it's obvious, trivial, and has already been had a thousand times.
Diamond remake stealth tips:

Each of the possible spawn areas is a safe zone.

There are three possible camera room locations.

There are 12 sapphires. 2 are in the atrium base, 1 is in a meeting room on the ground floor (beneath the party) and the rest are in the halls or the upper atrium balconies.

Red diamond chance is 10% on overkill, 20% above. It’s rolled when the vault opens. Though there is code for kills and going loud to effect the odds, none of it is implemented.

Ralph is very difficult to move to a safe spot.

Sight lines in the atrium were a bit bugged.

To add:

If you spot Ralph rather than run into him, you can wait until he walks into a safer spot like the office area. From there it's usually easy to walk him to the area with a set of stairs and a meeting room and leave him in the meeting room. No guards go there. Alternatively you can leave him in the office area and kill the one guard that patrols there. Alternatively alternatively just cap Ralph.

If you get the red diamond vault inside the regular vault, this makes one guard path right into the vault and get alerted from the open red diamond vault. Since the guard walks deep into the vault before alerting, you can just kill him there because no one will see his corpse.

Frankelstner, the long guide author. It's easy to miss- the script is all there, but it's not tied to in-heist actions.

From the minimal exposure I have of raid besides "not good!" I just heard it was made by the guys that made Forest and the driving segments of Payday... major red flag. I think they also made Dockyard though. If that is true I could understand the hype since I would consider that a premiere PD2 mission.

Raid sounds like it shoulda just been a DLC $$$ pack without the new characters.

From what I've gathered so far, it sounds like PD2 circa 2014: buggy, one-dimensional gameplay heavily reliant on RNG paired with a tedious grinding system to gain XP and unlock items. That version of PD2 made me take a break from the game for an entire year so I'm going to wait to see if they patch it. And anyway why is the game $34 in my local currency, that seems a bit high a price.

I am pretty sure that guards and civilians will only alert off of tied up civilians if they have a direct line of sight to said tied up civilian's head. I've been moving Ralph to the nearest solid wall and setting him down till his head clips through it.

I haven't had guards alert off of a civilian whose head I've driven into a wall, but I haven't really tested it either.

I think one of these days progression systems are just gonna collapse. Besides them being used as vessels to sell Loot Boxes and Boosts, you can already see the cracks in long-running franchises where people play like a few hours and get to use about 1% of all the content.

They aren't. The basic grenade is available to everyone, there are additional, mildly different grenades that are level gated. The level gate is such that you'll get the new grenade on any character after playing like 5 raids.

Lion Game Lion did not make the driving segments in payday. They made the BBQ Pack, the Bomb heists, and Golden Grin Casino.

RAID is a completely different game, with different core mechanics. It's definitely had some stumbles, and it's difficult to compare it fairly with the four-years-to-get-it-right payday, but it's ultimately not a Payday reskin or DLC except in the most primitive terms.

Most of the issues in RAID stem from what seems to have been a sprint to launch, and issues with the implementation of a safehouse lobby system- the very system that, when cut from payday 2, became a rallying cry of angry, entitled players for literally four years. That's a general trend with RAID: they tried to do the things people were asking for in payday 2, and got beaten over the head with why those things weren't implemented.

At this point most of the kinks have been ironed out, but the progression grind is, genuinely, really really long. Getting to level 40 with one character takes less time than getting to 100 took in payday 2 at launch, but there are four characters.

You're exactly right. Sightlines in many areas of the heist are pretty brutal, though, so it can be hard to lead Ralph somewhere and get his head stuck before a guard sees. The area by the white meeting room (the "Amber Room", according to the door) is right next to his route and offers some good walls.

Also when doing the head planting trick, make sure the head isn't sticking through the wall and visible on the other side.

I'll admit that I should have changed to my other OD build with 1 more convert, and a secondary ammo bag. The ECM is because I was doing Bank Heist previously and I usually use it to control the turret to facilitate escape. But 2/9 Muscle with ECMs...

Nothing, actually. It came from lots of high-level crime sprees. In fact, with this amount of money I've found that you even stop earning money the regular way, in that the couple million you might make in a normal heist doesn't even get added.

Iamgoofball posted:

On the contrary, using it only lets me see how useful it is! When I host DW and OD lobbies and the mod tells me people with 2 hours playtime want to join and have been autokicked, it reinforces the convenience and usefulness of this amazing modification.
