My wife and I and a few friends watched 1922 last night, and it was...interesting? It's a Stephen King adaptation, so I wouldn't call it scary, but it did have an effectively creepy atmosphere. It started off pretty dang slow; but when it got going, it wobbled a bit between being intriguing and being a bit difficult to follow. Still, a solid worth-checking-out for fans of semi-psychological crime dramas.

Like once a year I try to power through all the Roger Moore era Bonds and I never quite make it. I think I might just skip right to Brosnan this time. I own all the Connerys of course

Dalton was the best bond. He had a bit more of the darker edge, without taking it too far like Craig did. However, Moonraker is still the best bond film despite his absence.

I hate Live and Let Die because one time it was available on Prime, so I put it on my watchlist. Then I went to watch it like a week later and I didn't notice it had been pulled from Prime, so I ended up accidentally buying it for $14.99 instead. Live and Let Die is not worth $14.99. I curse that movie every time I see it in my library.

He has some good ones but I don't know how you can say "most consistent" when compared to Connery. Dr. No-Thunderball are all excellent, and then You Only Live Twice and Diamonds are Forever are a step down but I still think they're better than the worst of Moore, which is pretty bad. No way Moore has a run of four consecutive films that can stand up to the first 4 Connerys.

He really did start strong, Tomorrow Never Dies was a very solid followup to Goldeneye. Much better than Craig's second time out at least. Thinking about it, this (presumably) final Craig film will really go a long way towards cementing his "reputation" as Bond. If it sucks then he will go down as more of a Roger Moore who had some good and some bad, versus if it's a return to Skyfall form then he could go down as a consistently good Bond who only had one major misstep. Popular opinion still hasn't quite settled yet on Spectre, I think it will be mostly forgotten as a solid outing or lumped in with Quantum of Solace as an example of why the Craig era was bad, all depending on what happens with this final one.

If this next one is a return to Skyfall form(excellent), after Spectre was regarded as a bit of a disappointment, people will remember Craig's Bond as being consistently good with the one glaring exception of Quantum of Solace, which almost everyone agrees is pretty bad. If the next one is bad, the perception will be more that Craig made two good ones(Casino Royale and Skyfall) but three bad ones, and so his reputation will overall be negative.

I'm excited to see how I feel about Brosnan Bond after not seeing one since the Halle Berry Ice Mansion owned by Diamond Face one. I think no matter how good or bad the next Craig Bond movie is, people will still really like Craig as Bond, they'll just say he was wasted in three mediocre movies. some of y'all have some really bad opinions concerning the Bond franchise Moore's movies are entertaining, mostly unintentionally but entertaining nonetheless Daniel Craig's movies are very poorly written, and they waste fantastic actors on mediocre Big Bads The Pierce Brosnan era was astoundingly bad, Goldeneye was alright but the franchise nosedived like a Russian sub with a nuclear meltdown On Her Majesty's Secret Service was a very good movie, but the fact that I can't remember the lead's name says a lot about him to me The Sean Connery era had dizzying highs and some pretty low lows, but still it was the strongest era (Never Say Never Again doesn't count, dammit) wildcard: The Peter Sellers Casino Royale 1967 was better than any Craig movie From Russia With Love is the best Bond, period

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow is back on Netflix. I unashamedly love this movie. It's a love letter to the old before the movie serials and superman cartoons of the 30s and 40s.

Someone here once described Brosnan as a "greatest hits" Bond, which is basically the perfect way to describe him. He has flashes of all the other actors and their takes, but he never really establishes himself. He's very much a cipher. He probably had an opportunity to really do something with The World is Not Enough (and there's still maybe half of a good movie in there), but he was really let down by the supporting cast, as Robert Carlyle was the only other person who gave a poo poo in that movie.

If they cut off the part where he runs away with whatsherface and put it at the beginning of Quantum of Solace, CR would have been better and QoS wouldn't be half a movie. Also, Skyfall has the silhouette fight and Ralph Fiennes being awesome, so points for those.
