I want the Lion to wake up, say "gently caress this poo poo", unite his legion, and immediately secede. Possibly as a result of Cypher making it in to see the emperor after 200 years on Terra. Not turn to chaos or any of that dumb "LION WAS THE REAL TRAITOR" poo poo. I just choose to imagine he'd be deeply unsatisfied about the current state of the Imperium and would gently caress off to do his own thing. Instead, I'm sure he'll get some dumbass, fancy title and hang out with Guilliman. I don't know, I'm not expecting the Lion with this release, but it'd likely be in December which is probably a good release window for that sort of thing.

Confirmed on GW Site - https://www.warhammer-community.com/2017/11/03/news-codexes-heroes-blood-glorygw-homepage-post-3/ Though that says Daemons will be early next year instead of before Xmas. --- So, once the Bangles and Dangles are out, that just leaves Sisters, Deathwatch, Wolves and Imperial Agents for Imperium right? Possibly Knights though maybe the Mechanicus book is all the rules they get. For Chaos that leaves TSons I'm reckoning we'll see Deldar and Tau fairly early on, with Deathwatch around the same time to fight them. It'd be neat to get TSons and Wolves released around the same time. We'll likely get a World Eaters book with plastic Angron to round out the three Traitor Legions that matter (RIP Slaanesh), GeneCult, Ynnari and Harlequins, then it'll be time for a classic GW move and a new version of Space Marines will come out before Orks and Necrons. I'm hoping we at least get Orks before minor factions like Space Clowns and Genestealers, but part of me is hoping they're sitting on that codex to make it really fluffy and effective. Stratagems and tactics have been killing it on that front, and when Orks have already been the fun faction for several editions they really deserve a return to that role.

They're on record as wanting russ back first but it being a step too far for the setting since he just immediately burns the imperium to the ground, so they went for Guilliman instead. So I'll be interested to see how russ' return works when the two brothers kicking about are two of his least favourite.

Lord_Hambrose posted:Luther did nothing wrong I will loving cut you. Seriously though, the fluff will be terrible because Thorpe will be sticking his lovely oar into it. But I dearly hope the Lion is confirmed as having been loyal all along. What I'd like to see is the DA uniting, and the Lion setting up as a as the second consul/leader of the Imperium on the far side of the rift. I think it would be good if they explain it as Cypher getting his meeting with the Emperor, then going on Guilleman's crusade until he could get close enough to the Rock to infiltrate and wake the Lion. Then because he's lovely the Lion forgives Luther (who we know is repentant) and sends Cypher out to bring those Fallen who can be saved back into the fold. Thus letting you use Cypher with either DA or CSM armies.

Every time I give him a chance and start to think "this ain't half bad" he pulls off a blisteringly stupid, rushed conclusion that leaves me wondering what the gently caress just happened and why the hell it was written. Seriously, the ending to his big Dark Angels Trilogy (Ravenwing, Master of Sanctity, and Unforgiven) is so loving dumb and bad and retroactively ruined what was overall a decent trilogy. Well, duology, the first book wasn't that great. Angels of Caliban suffers from this too.

Obviously it was a mess to go through the old psychic system of 7th edition, and a lot of powers were just copies of each other, but the fluff was so much better and they did a better job of hiding the repeat powers from you, because they all had cool names and nice blurbs about what they did.
