Titan is kind of weird in terms of environment. On the one hand, you've got this huge impressive ocean with those massive waves as your backdrop, and a mostly intact (albeit infested) Golden Age habitat for you to play around in. And then they pretty much disregard all that and have you hop around in a boring industrial oil rig level 90% of the time you are there. I wanna go deeper into whatever weird poo poo is going on in that arcology. Or, hell, give me a Strike on some marooned massive cargo ship that's being thrown around by those giant waves. Just gently caress off with the bland pipes and grates everywhere.

I want to do stuff in that giantass dome briefly glimpsed at the end of the CPU mission.

I want Sloane to take me to her quarters and beat me while yelling at the top of her lungs for me to submit to the Imperium of Man.

How loving cool would it be to incorporate some of that poo poo into a strike map. Fighting off waves of enemies as a storm rages, tossing containers around. Maybe get in on that giant rear end monster (that we see the shadow of before you nab the CPU).

Given how much trouble a similar setup gave Naughty Dog, for whom poo poo like that has been their stock and trade for a while now, I wouldn't expect it in something like Destiny that's under such a massive time crunch.

Are there any planets out there with giant gently caress off drills we haven't destroyed yet? Because that will be the next Strike.

They'll send a giant drill to the sun and hope the Guardians get drawn there like flies to flame.

The arcology is enormous, the missed opportunity to actually use it is even bigger. Having Titan patrol area limited to just a third of actual playspace, baffling. So uh... devour warlocks. I tried it today, last class of the three that I rolled. It's waaaay too strong compared to any other build. I wouldn't be surprised if Bungie eventually made it so that killing enemies just add a couple of seconds to the devour duration instead of completely resetting its duration because that poo poo is just bananas. They really nailed the 'space magic wizard' feel with warlock though. I like charging grenades up with some of the other builds, and the synergy that the melee and grenade abilities often have.

Snuffman posted:So was Nessus actually their destination? No, they're destination was out of the system. The Vex (or someone else) used Vex bullshit (or some other kind of bullshit) to gently caress with Nessus' orbit so the Exodus would crash into it. Their actual destination is mentioned in the Nessus faction armor stuff (The Exodus Black <whatever> piece armors.) Skoll posted:Spooky, I don't think you got my joke. They even mention Cayde was once a human before taking some sort of contract and waking up as a more Robo RoboCop. No, I didn't. I was too busy being a lore autist. A Buff Gay Dude posted:Uh it's definitely not certain at all that the things on Fundament were ahamkara, and if anything it's likely they weren't. The hive's worm gods are described as having 'coiled wings' and 'folded jaws'. The Ahamkara skull that sits on the Young Ahamkara spine, does, in fact, have a split jaw with mandibles. Which may very well fold. They also speak using the same 'o seeker mine' phrasing that's present in basically all of the Ahamkara stuff. Oh and there's this line from the Books of Sorrow XLV: I'd shut them all in cells posted:
The Harmony have dragons, whom Xivu Arath feels to be the same dragons that are their gods, ie, the worm gods. Also from the following verse, we know these dragons grant wishes. The Gift Mast posted:Verse 5:4 — The Gift Mast Between how they talk, the description, and also that the Hive recognize them as the same creatures as their gods, I'd say it's fair to say that the Ahamkara are the Hive's Worms. Also the traveller thinking humanity is special and dumb and stupid

I got 4 undefeated medals or whatever it is you get for not dying. Felt really good to finally bust that nut after coming up short on console so many times. drat, gg

I have just purchased this game and while it is downloading I am wondering how to play it. Like a normal shootmans (run and gun/hide and ambush) or more like a bg?

Play it like any modern FPS but imagine you only have like 5 health instead of 100-200. Also everyone QQing swords in PvP... loving JUMP! If you see someone is loaded on sword ammo (tells you in the killfeed every time someone loads heavy) that’s your queue to move your team’s or your personal position to an open space or high ground, giving you line of sight on the sword guy. When you see him, jump up, use your class jump and shoot him on the way down. People act like swords are the be all of PvP but really a lot of it is panicking because it’s not easy to aim at someone in melee range, so the tactic is “don’t fight the sword guy up close” Alternatively wait for sword guy to dive you then double jump straight up and plop a grenade straight down. This has a huge success rate in QP.

I'm interested in getting this but curious how hardware intensive it'll be, my processor isn't quite up to the minimum but my graphics card exceeds it. If i put it on low settings will it chug or is it pretty poo poo computer friendly?

Are the open areas all PtP as well? I am having nothing but problems playing the game when in any of the open areas. poo poo lags all to hell then I get a baboon error and am reloaded into a new area with different people and it works fine. It almost feels like i'm getting a lovely p2p connection during the public event, then the host drops and I'm rehosted. I'm monitoring my network on the other screen, and when stuff "skips" I notice my incoming traffic drops to 0 for a second, then bounces back up to 300 to 800+ Kbps. My Send never drops below 200. If I'm not near other people in the public area's everything is fine. It seems to be once I'm close to other guardians. Kilazar fucked around with this message at 16:47 on Nov 5, 2017 |

If you end up purchasing the game immediately, the last hotfix introduced a fairly widespread stutter issue but it is on Bungie's end.

Of course I'm not a big crucible guy so maybe I just play against baddies

SpookyLizard posted:The Harmony have dragons, whom Xivu Arath feels to be the same dragons that are their gods, ie, the worm gods. Bruh you need to reread this. This isn't the best writing, but "Their" doesn't refer to "our gods" it refers to "THE DRAGONS." See below as well* The Ahamkara are the dragons and these dragons either access the hive gods or the power of the hive gods somehow (aka the deep). The Hive are pissed because they believe their gods are the heralds of the Deep and only the hive, as the manifestation of this power and the chosen race that will end the great battle for the universe in the pole position, should have access. Seriously, re-read it. Xivu can't possibly think the Gods have smug freedom that is an insult to her. So god and dragons are distinct. The dragons/ahamkara somehow access or mess with the hive gods. quote:Now arrives Xivu Arath, at the head of her armada. She fights the Harmony for fifty years with strategies and discipline. But the Harmony turn to dragon-wishes, and their wishful bishops wrestle Xivu in the ascendant plane. quote:Next arrives Savathûn, flanked by her chorus and her celebrants. They trick their way onto Ana-Harmony in disguises, so that they might vivisect these dragons. The Worm our God laughs and laughs.
