If you have an Xbox One X your best choice is probably the 360 version of Halo 3, since the 4-way split gives each player their own 1080p area. Other options include Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (IIRC this is the only one you can do split screen with the campaign for).

I got rid of my ps4 pro and got an xbox one x yesterday. The ram is really bad but planet earth 2 in 4k + hdr owns. I haven’t played any games yet but i fully plan to play oblivion ~Enhanced~ That’s actually what sold me on switching, i hated that i couldnt play any of my playstation games from console generations that were actually good

I agree the xbonx is very good Tried a few minutes of Gears of War 4 before work and, besides being not quite as silky frame rate-wise, it was on par with my beast PC. It's nice to be a console peasant again, Xbox specifically.

Diablo 3 supports 4 players. I guess it's important to distinguish "local co-op" from "split screen" in this case, since Diablo 3 isn't split screen so there are some restrictions in terms of the game's mechanics played locally (e.g. everyone has to stick together, more or less).

Syrinxx posted:Congrats for avoiding the poo poo until now I guess, but it's coming to every comcast market eventually Yeah this is what I am at. $10 for every 50 Gb after the TB up to an extra $200 charge and then that $200 would be the max per month one would see. Pretty ridiculous. Or, you can pay an extra $50 a month to not have caps at all which would be the better deal. Obviously they are doing this because everyone is cutting the cord these days and they are losing an extreme amount of revenue and trying to make it up. Doesn't effect a lot of people now, but it sure will when 4k HDR streaming services become mainstream. What they should be doing is maintaining unlimited internet usage as long as a person still subscribes to cable in a bundle package. Otherwise, screw it. To piss them off I'll go with another carrier (I can get 1gb Century Link Fiber soon) and will subscribe to PS Vue. Edit: Awesome. 1gb Century link is available now for $85 a month, no usage limits. Being as I just upgraded to a new B7A OLED 65", and will be streaming more 4k HDR content, maybe I should cut that cord sooner rather than later Utnayan fucked around with this message at 21:29 on Nov 8, 2017 |

spudsbuckley posted:Games from 2006 and 2008 are all that Xbox owners have to look forward to. Agreed on that front, except Sea of Thieves which could be good (Or not ha) Could go either way. If MS added Dolby Vision support to the 4k player on the Xbox One X (or S for that matter) along with being the stronger console out of the gate for cross platform, it would pretty much be a no brainer. And have the PS Pro for the Playstation exclusives of which, obviously, are awesome. With that said, Sony fell down on not adding a 4k player to their PS Pro. If they had, I would own only the PS Pro because as you stated, MS has zero 1st party worth anything, anything I would maybe want to play, I could play on PC. PS Pro with a 4k would easily dominate the room - Best 1st Party, 4k Player, and pretty close to the best cross platform experience. Utnayan fucked around with this message at 22:03 on Nov 8, 2017 |

Maybe I'll upgrade to the X and come back to the couch. We've had the original xbone for around 3 years and I just haven't used it much at all past the first few weeks. Wife still likes it somehow. Every time I tried it I was so dissapointed with just how poorly the games ran & how slow everything loaded. It wasn't the bright HD console gaming future we were loving promised. It pushed me to double back down on PC gaming, but I really miss the simple times of consoles. Sitting at a desk, loving with monthly garbage driver updates, configuring graphics settings, or getting mad at hackers in multiplayer games just kind of blows. All I want is to play really pretty games from my couch, on my big rear end TV, in actual real full HD and smooth higher frame rates. Has that dream finally arrived? I am afraid to open my heart back up and try to love again. $500 to "upgrade" might just be worth it to me.

A lot of the 4k TVs and even plain HDTVs people have these days just make the old DVD players people have been using for years look like real poo poo because their scalers really don't play nice with the 480i signals the DVD player puts out (because of course the people never bothered to have component cables, or they had them but their new tv makes you buy something to use component etc). This is like, all things that are fixable if you want to but people are likely these days to just get rid of those DVDs.
