GameStop's always carried tons of toys and poo poo like that. Main thing is just they basically don't bother to carry more than a few PC games anymore, and they reclaimed all the space those boxes used to take up for more toy racks et cetera.

like have you people never been to a nordstroms or something where they measure you for a shirt or pants and have to take measurements of your shoulder length, torso length, and stuff like that? The numbers they get for those are used across pretty much every brand in the upper levels of clothing. It's only recently with "botique" retailers like h&m and express in poo poo where you run into the issue of the various sizes for generic terms of "small, medium, and large" if you get the numbers or go to a tailor you can just plug them into the amazon search filter and find something in your exact size, all amazon has to do is promote getting sized up for clothes and they'll have pretty much solved the issue of finding poo poo that fits online

That can be a complete pain in the rear end for someone that can't leave their job or home easily to take it to the post office or UPS when they're open. they now offer the ability to leave the package outside your house where usps or whatever will be notified on their next run through and pick it up

I think the retailers that ultimately survive will be the ones that leverage an online presence the best. Zara is really good at this, for example. I might go in, try on some things, buy some things, then buy some similar things on the website, perhaps return some of those in-store so I don't have to deal with the shipping, and then buy something else as I'm in the store again. If they were online-only or physical-location-only, they'd probably have got only 20% of the sales they did from me.

See I think an inline store model is going to become the future, something like a small nike store where they at least have clothing you can try on and if they don't have instore stock they'll just order it for you and have it delivered to your house. Instead of trying to have a big store in a mall where you have to carry a lot of inventory you could put a smaller stores in mixed retail areas where you could show off much more variety of clothing.

There's huge variation in waist to hip ratio, breast shape differs even in the same "size" of breast which causes all manner of problem fitting in the chest, you can get an identical hip measurement from wide hips with no butt or narrow hips with a big butt and different pants will work for each. Women are more than just a series of measurements and two women with identical numbers can fit into clothes completely differently.

The way I see it the only retail stores that are going to survive into the future are: 1 - Niche stores that offer harder to find things at a convenience. A lot of people will rather go to a store to buy something specific if they need it immediately rather than wait for shipping if it's important. 2 - Stores where their merchandise is difficult to be certain on details for (clothing mostly). 3 - Dollar stores. You can get most of the things they have online and if you plan ahead can get it cheaper and have it on time for when you need it. But most people aren't going to buy a laundry hamper online. With the exception of groceries, most other basic things are going to eventually switch over to online. If you need a toaster but can wait two days, plenty of online stores have them in greater selection and pricing. Same for most other appliances and electronics. Things like tools and power equipment will see most of their stock go online . The exception will be tools that require to be personally adjusted (chainsaws, lawnmowers, leaf blowers etc) as buying a tool you can't handle isn't worthwhile to you if you have to send it back to get a replacement and you need the tool today. Also things that are two impractical to mail back for repair will still require someone local to fix them.
