Hi thread. I've been collecting political comics over the years, through the elections and crisis's and I'd thought I would share a few i thought were either interesting or just terrible. Some make more or even less sense in retrospect             (If the corn here is supposed to be the Iraq war then wonder what the harvest was)   (a naiver time)  (Russia saving the Ukraine from the USA?)

Just lol that someone earnestly put "English language" as an ingredient for Donald Trump's glue that fixes America. First of all, he's probably the least fluent English speaker we've had in the White House. No I don't mean in recent history, I mean even back when education basically ended at elementary school we had better diction in the office. No joke, I bet you could even prove this just by looking at only two of his transcripts. And also I just can't believe how petty people are about "speaking English." You know they put it in this cartoon because "WHY DO I HAVE TO PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH IN AMERICA!!?!" It's like I've mentioned before about my lovely job transcribing the messages old people leave for their health insurance: they almost seem obsessed and can't NOT be racist shits even when trying. 9 times out of 10 the complaints I hear about it are "Hire more people that speak English...." which is in the same message as "we got everything figured out and they were very courteous, but hire someone that speaks English!" Like first of all you dumb old gently caress, what were they speaking that you understood so well? Second, just hit the drat button for English! Ugh, I'll never get it. Maybe that's the unreachable gap between the parties. I literally can't place myself in the shoes of someone who cares that they have to push a button to not get Spanish and possibly have to hear some filthy brown person language for a couple seconds.

How many native Spanish speakers did the US take in when they Annexed Texas? Certainly the US must have a huge native Spanish speaking population from that alone. Not to mention Puerto Rico. Spanish is certainly a native tongue of the US and it has nothing to do with immigration.

About 10 years ago now, the local CBS station ran a Spanish language commercial during CSI for some reason. The only reason I know about it was because the next day someone at work was ranting about it and how he wanted to throw the TV through the window.

The English is him saying, joint the melting pot, by leaving all your culture to assimilate to ARE WAY.
