Tornado Kick is badly designed and explained. Other classes (red mage, warrior, samurai, etc.) you accumulate resources, spend them on a big flashy attack, and repeat. Monk you're supposed to accumulate greased lightning stacks, then sit on them forever. But the game never explains that Tornado Kick is only a last resort when you won't be fighting again for a while, and you can't just look at the potency numbers because there's ugly math behind the scenes with skill speed. So I can't fault people for using Tornado Kick the way I can for people that ignore aoe abilities or whatever, because it's sort of the obvious thing to do unless your the type of person that reads class guides for fun.

Can I just say I adore Alisaie here in SB? Love how she doesn't take people's poo poo like a sad puppy and calls out the obstructive, untrustworthy, or needy and worthless NPCs who keep bogging me down. As the tank I couldn't even compensate for the lost dps.  EDIT: my static finally beat O3S

I've been playing BLM for a while and I keep seeing people talk about doing Foul -> 4 flares -> Foul and I'm wondering how you do it? The most I seem to be able to do is three - once with the umbral hearts, a second time to zero out my mana, then use convert for a third. Do you use ethers or something similar for another flare, or is it dependent on people mana-shifting you?
