Farchanter posted:Right, that's what I mean. If the Chargers and Eagles win this week, then they would clinch with a Washington win next Thursday? Yes, the Cowboys' elimination number is 3. So if they lose to the Chargers on Thanksgiving, Philly beats the Bears on Sunday, and the Cowboys lose again to the Redskins next Thursday, that is the earliest the Eagles could possibly clinch the division. At that point the Eagles would be 10 - 1, the Redskins either 5 - 7 or 6 - 6 and down the head to head tiebreaker, and the Cowboys 5 - 7. Realistically, the Eagles don't need to worry about wacky scenarios to clinch the division. They should be focused on taking care of business week to week, so as not to give ground to the Vikings, Rams, or Saints in search of home field advantage. A badly timed loss or two could go as far as costing them the bye, and that would be a big disappointment right now.

Marshall Faulk is the all time leader in 2 pt conversions with 7, Alshon Jeffery has 4 already. I want Alshon to break this record before the season is out. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/two_pt_md_career.htm

They should look into using Hill as a kickoff specialist. You would get one more coverage player on the field. As long as he's putting it into the end zone with decent hang time, why not?

"gently caress it, let's just never punt and go for two every time we score" borne out into a season's worth of play sounds like something Jon Bois would make a video about Edit: The Eagles are averaging 5.7 yards per play, and have faced 4th and 5 or less a total of 30 times. They've faced 4th and 6 or greater a total of 42 times. Toaster Beef fucked around with this message at 17:33 on Nov 21, 2017 |

Will 2 point conversions be the NFLs version of the 3 pointer in the NBA, where it’s discovered there’s more value and it’s a more efficient play? Then some team will get a ST dude who can kick far but not really well enough to be a FG kicker, and just forego FG and XP altogether? Football Moneyball 2018 lets go Chip Kelly I know you hear me out there somewhere you crazy weirdo let’s do this!!

I love going for 2 and going for it on 4th downs. It's really weird how Chip talked a big game about that stuff but (even before Jake went down) Doug has been WAY more aggressive about it. He has analytic people upstairs talking in his headset. I'm not sure Philadelphia fans are ready for Doug Pederson - NFL trailblazer and savant

I think Doug Peterson is a good coach for this team where the primary goal is to develop a young QB who is super dedicated and already mature beyond his years. It's a situation where the defense is completely taken care of by a former head coach, and player personnel is completely handled by the GM and his team. He's got limited responsibilities and is backed up by a strong supporting cast in Reich and DiFilippo.
