It's not really doing it for me either. Pretty much every match is always the same, and there's very little strategy to it besides "keep spawning robots". Not being 3-way like Frontlines really makes it a lot less dynamic, and only being able to queue with 3 other people just loving sucks.

That's what happens when you take a game mode designed around being able to gain power over the enemy team and take out that key aspect of it, yes.

Look at this snail.
I think they need to let us have 4 robots a group and robots cost 25 whatevers to spawn. Yeah.

Actually, forget the robot cost the whole game should just be you're a robot now.

Note: I don't play mobas and I don't know the proper way to do this kind of thing. But the game is boring.

I said this the first time I played it and got poo poo on by people that were hyped for it at the moment. It has a lot of balance issues.

Dead weight, just like this post.

The robots are just too spammable as it is now. There should be a cooldown once sombody dies in one for X amount of minutes so that taking down an oppressor or Brute Justice is actually a drat achievement.

I like rival wings a lot but it could obviously be improved by taking out players as they are and making everyone spawn as one of the four robofiends of their choice, Blaster, Brawler, Swindler or Vortexer

It's barely a "moba" as it is tbh. The similarities end at two lanes, a tiny minion wave, and a tower/core.

I feel like Rival Wings would be a lot better on a map about 2/3s the size and as a 12 vs 12 mode.

Slowly. Usually that means the dps are using their single target rotation, or just slow to push buttons.

Well that's weak.

Thanks! I feel pretty good, because we wiped on 190 but I threw up a Raising right when I saw it was happening. So the boss reset and the Healer managed to revive all of us before we cleared it.

So it turns out you can light up the cannons from the grass underneath if you are ranged dps, so basically just grab a bard/smn/mch and kill core cannoneers nonstop while the mechs push. Games ending quite handily now.

New Carbuncle merch found on the JP S-E store. A set of Carbuncle hoods, so I'd assume the Carby headgear items are tied to that.

The mounts are probably tied to another piece of merch, I'd assume.

I dunno, their spammability is directly related to your ceruleum production. If the other team is constantly able to afford mechs for all parties then that means you're letting them control way too much of the map (specifically, both mid and the cave underneath it).

And taking down a Brute Justice is a huge achievement, each team can only make two of them.

EDIT: My main problem, that I encountered with it in my last match, is that you're punished for doing too well. One of the main things I like about mobas is the feeling of snowballing; by making a really good play early, you're given an advantage that makes it easier to do later stuff. In this, though, taking a tower actually punishes you by allowing the enemy to spawn a Brute. And if your team is good enough to not lose either tower, you're punished by not being able to spawn a Brute yourself. So I just had a match where we were very obviously dominating, and killed both of their Brutes before either of our towers went down, but we weren't able to end the game before the timer ran out partly because we never got to spawn one ourselves.

The SAM's numbers are... actually pretty impressive.

You just have to be asleep at the wheel to get numbers like that.

They were ending quite fast yesterday for me but then everyone discovered the cannons and that was it.

I think the mode is a disappointment for me after the newness wore off. Like you can take the generator but there's so many gas tanks in the moat and caves that it's kind of whatever, except it's the most un-fun thing be on tank duty. Whoever grabs the mechs will probably always be the ones with mechs cause they revive in 5 seconds and just grab a new one. Everyone else is basically just swarming something ineffectively until your core is getting pushed, playing hide and seek in the moat, or generally just bouncing off healers in the generator room. Oppressor is basically "ugh all the cruise chasers are occupied, I guess I should help us win <alt-tab for 30 seconds while you slowly trundle across the battlefield>"

About the only cool thing to do is taking control of the chaser or the justice cause they can move reasonably fast and splatter people.

Actually solo'ing the mechs with a bard/mch/smn is pretty funny too.

Still have no idea what the dota adds do.

If a mammet can make it to a tower or core they will charge up an attack and self-destruct into the tower doing about 20% of it's health. They won't fight players, only each other, so when pushing a lane even if it's hectic someone should be trying to clear out opposing mammets because no one watches the mammets in a scrap.

Additionally, if you're on foot and land a killshot on an enemy mammet, you get a CE bonus, which is an alternative way to build ceruleum without having to scour mid for it.

Because of this in the early game I've found it's more effective to not send a giant murder ball into the generator room but to have 1-2 parties push up a lane while everyone is occupied. Kill mammets on the way and escort your own as far up to the tower as you can. Worst case you still get some CE for when it's time for robot wars, best case you make inroads on a tower and clear up the path for the first wave of your own mechs.

Side note - you don't have to die to get back to your base to grab a mech, using Return will get you there too.

As far as swarming goes I dunno I guess people are getting used to the dynamic still. People on foot are a fast, responsive option to deal with Oppressors (the only thing faster is 2-4 chasers spamming their 1 unopposed) and every enemy Oppressor that shows up on the map should have a pack of players hunting for it. Similarly, Cruise Chasers are countered by a few good dps getting right up in their faces; I have in the past soloed a Cruise Chaser player on SAM because their toolkit works pretty bad against some agile players directly inside their own hitbox. On foot against a Justice is a lot more iffy but you can often take advantage of the fact that there's very little feedback to a mech pilot when they're in danger, and in the middle of a giant scrum of angry robots you can luck out and have a Justice pilot straight up not notice you gnawing at their ankles until you've already done a big chunk of damage.

I actually have had more fun being a hunter-killer for isolated mechs on foot then pushing a lane with a mech since my survivability is higher and it feels better to turn back a push when you bring down an oppressor or even a chaser escort. Plus if you're keeping an eye on your map you'll occasionally notice some clever boy trying to pilot an oppressor through the lake hoping no one will notice. :allears:

I noticed. :unsmigghh:
