Diablo one and Diablo two are incredibly dull games. You walk around clicking on uninteresting trash monsters hoping they'll drop some cool leather belt for you Dungeon Keeper, now there's a fun game with demons. Never did play the sequel but the original was incredibly fun

Was jade empire racist? E: well fine I’m going to talk about jade empire and bioware rpgs. I think it was cool. I always played as the dude with the dragon tattoo cause he was badass. I also choose kicks because it was cool to kick people to death. Focus was lame and the sword skill was cartoonish towards the end. The twist still blew my goddamned brain (at age like 11 ish when I played it). Magic was underused. I used rock powers cause I played like a pussy; tempest poo poo looked the coolest. The tiger man was alright. Demon guy with the little girl was cool. Liked the crazy inventor guy. But mini games. Why. also Super Mario Odyssey is fun and a step in the right direction even if it's not the second coming of Mario Jesus, and it is astoundingly funny to me when I see people complain that the 100 jump jump rope challenge is "impossible". it's literally one button lmao, you need to press one single button 100 times slightly faster as you go on. there's no trick to it, you just need better hand eye coordination than an alcoholic rhesus monkey, and yet every time someone brings up the game on SA some poor person apparently born without fully articulated thumbs jumps in to complain about the loving jump rope, like clockwork

But you're not wrong about CoD4 being the gem of the series so far. Fun fact: "Infinity Ward" is not actually Infinity Ward. Literally, and I do mean literally, every single person of importance jumped ship like the titanic during the Activision blow up, and 90% of the ones that matter ended up at Respawn Entertainment. Infinity Ward, as it exists now, consists entirely of the interns that weren't taken in the exodus and ex-Treyarch employees (well, at first, I'm sure they've hired people since). Also fun fact: The actual people behind CoD4 era IW were once 2015, Inc. doing Medal of Honor games for EA, which is also why that series suddenly started sucking (they left to do CoD1). I'm sure with Respawn being bought by EA their next "respawn" is around the corner..

Honestly it sounds like you might have just been bad at System Shock 2. By like the 2nd area I'm usually cheesing implants and hypos to be able to run on walls (yes, it's possible with the wonky physics engines) spraying dual overloaded laser pistols on a toggle.. plus I beat the whole game with a wrench and laser sword on the max difficulty.

So basically they swapped to a tactical hex system over a square system that game itself cannot handle and only the player can exploit and I think it's assss despite liking hexes better. God drat it I hate Global Happiness.. winning a war only for your people to hate you because you took towns that hate you with no way to fix the town because it's global.... fuuuuuuuck. The only way to make people happy is to slaughter and murder everyone and never take territory. Oh yeah, the removal of tech trading for random bullshit and the lack of need for trade routes to swap resources (goodbye, road blockages) makes me say gently caress Civ 5 even after expansions.

I'm still kind of shocked that EA bought Respawn with how much of a seething hatred Vince Zampella seems to have for big publishers and their whole thing at the beginning seemed to about remaining independent and holding their own IP's. I'm guessing it wasn't a move they wanted to make, but that's what happens when your game doesn't sell a fraction of what it deserves to.
