I think it's been firmly established That Tony is good at some things and bad at others.

He is a good: Husband, scientist, and friend to Donnie

He is a bad: Parent, small talker, and friend to anyone who isn't Donnie

Robot is still going to be first I think. They're working on Tony's hand first, probably as a way to improve making something as precise and intricate as a hand (since so far Kat only made that 2 finger one).
