I guess they're pretty pissed off about the Kate Steinle verdict. I didn't follow the case at all (other than knowing Trump referenced it a lot), what's the deal here? Wikipedia makes it sound like it was open and shut but I guess there was probably more to it? Anyways freep thinks liebral San Franciscans let the devil minority off just to... piss off Trump. Um, sure.

I mean, the defense argued it was an accidental discharge. What it actually was, who can say? But the prosecution didn't successfully convince the jury beyond a reasonable doubt and thems the breaks. It's another case of "people being mad at the justice system because their preferred outcome didn't happen" mixed with racism. What I saw was that he fired the gun (accidentally or otherwise) and a ricochet hit and killed someone. The prosecution tried to go for a murder or voluntary manslaughter charge because it looked like a slam dunk to lock up an illegal immigrant forever but couldn’t prove that he intentionally ricocheted a bullet into his victim, so they could only get him on illegal gun possession.
