According to an article I read recently, the AR-15 is deadlier than Kalashnikovs because of the smaller bullets. I guess the aerodynamic turbulence or something causes bigger, uglier wounds on impact.

I kind of wish the FBI had gone the other way and gone for even more, smaller bullets and gone for issuing those .22 machine guns that briefly saw service with some podunk police department or other. The American 180, which according to wikipedia saw such auspicious users as Rhodesia, South Africa and the Utah department of corrections.

I wish NRA lobbying hadn't made it illegal for the CDC to study gun violence, the stats about the amount of fuckery caused by edc dorks falling down or dropping or sitting on their own poo poo are probably wonderful. Also it always seemed kind of self-defeating because if you ever did find yourself in a situation where you genuinely needed to defend yourself the fact that you walk around with a small arsenal of poo poo designed and marketed around how good it is at killing people is going to make it incredibly difficult to argue that you weren't looking for a fight or premeditated. pseudosavior posted:I love that the response to this gigantic shitshow was not "we need better initial planning" or "we need better firefight tactics" or "we need to learn how to aim a weapon properly" but "we need to be able to fire EVEN MORE, LARGER BULLETS, FASTER". The story of how tasers were developed and became adopted by police is a pretty funny too. Like at one point they were testing using tranquilizer darts and they found out that whoops it was either too slow to actually be useful or it would just kill people.

GORKA's "sharktac grips" are basically skateboard tape; everyone uses those. But if he's ever involved in a shooting, the opposing side will naturally argue that he's a wingnut who thinks he's a supervillain and was itching for a chance to prove his manhood. sexpig by night posted:"We regret to inform you the amount of tranqs required to instantly knock a guy out is also the amount of tranqs required to kill a guy"

It's not illegal, it's a funding issue. The CDC isn't supposed to advocate for gun control and that's up to interpretation by the people who control their purse strings.
