Trump was a Dem for years and donated hundreds of thousands to democratic candidates, as well as to the Clinton foundation and had both Clintons at his wedding. He could have easily been a part of "the political elite" if he just stopped putting ketchup on his steak and read more books than he wrote (or, more accurately, had ghostwritten)
