Morgan Stanley isn't a "bank dude" like Jamie Dimon, it's the name of an actual bank itself, not a person.

He's bound to have been able to influence them though, which I think is part of peoples complaints about 'the political elite'. Is 'political elite' something that gets leveled at the Democrats more than the Republicans?

Definitely cuz Democrats are out of touch and want to tax the hell out of you and also force you to buy healthcare and such things

Trump was a Dem for years and donated hundreds of thousands to democratic candidates, as well as to the Clinton foundation and had both Clintons at his wedding. He could have easily been a part of "the political elite" if he just stopped putting ketchup on his steak and read more books than he wrote (or, more accurately, had ghostwritten)

That's sorta the thing. Trump has spent just about his entire life trying desperately to get into the club but is so repellent a person and so lacking in basic refinement that they'll never, ever stop sneering at him.

Not to take this thread further off subject, but do recall that the joint chiefs discovered they could only get him to read his daily briefings by making each sentence short and simple in structure, and including at least one explicit mention of his name per paragraph.

he's not even really "new" money in that he crafted his own fortune, he just inherited a million dollars from his dad and then failed to adequately grow it over the next few decades. He'd be richer today if he would have tossed his million dollars into an account and let it grow instead of bankrupting a casino in atlantic city

the elites don't like him because he's the perfect example of dunning-krueger in business acumen as well as an annoying narcissist, and now he gets to help shape economic policy lmbo

"New" money usually takes at least several generations before it's established enough to drop the qualifier, particularly in the eyes of whatever imbecilic pack of bluebloods already make up old money. Not that I disagree that they have every reason to dislike him beside being a johnny jumpup.
