Regalingualius posted:I don't recognize the artist off-hand, so I don't know (based on their previous portfolio) if this is just a particularly horribly mangled metaphor, or completely sincere. The artist is Bart Van Leeuwen, Dutch, and based on his previous work, I'd guess it's just a 'little girl gets her revenge' cartoon.

Teriyaki Hairpiece posted:90% of the people who voted for Hillary showed up for Jones, only 40% of the people who voted for Trump showed up for Moore. It was not a massive Democratic surge, it was an unwillingness among Republicans to vote for a horrible candidate. That and amazingly actually getting Democrats to show up in an off year election in December.

Reading this thread has gotten to me. At work this morning all I could imagine was a Branco cartoon of Doug Jones saying "The people of Alabama have spoken!" beside a group of Mexicans saying "SI!" and wearing shirts that say "VOTER FRAUD" while Shadow Obama lurks behind them.

There may have been crossover, and likely some new voters were motivated. Based on what I read on 538 (I know I know) they seemed to think it was low turnout, and leading up to the election the characterized AL as being one of the most partisan, least crossover electorates in the US

That Rall is so loving lovely. THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES HAD ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HIM FROM DOZENS. AN ACCUSED PEDOPHILE ONLY NARROWLY LOST AN ELECTION AND HAD HIS PARTY’S BACKING. We are not remotely in the realm of men in power being hounded for their crimes. They are treated just as well as the warmongers (and you, know, tend to be the same loving people anyways). I have to assume Rall has done some sketchy poo poo in the past and is getting defensive. If that’s the case, then I hope whatever poor woman befell him can finally sink this has-been once and for all.

This is one of those instances where I wish there was an accepted system in place where you can pay money to have annotations show up on a political commercial or political comic that calls them out. The only reason I don't hate this comic the most is because Ted Rall continues to be a sad piece of poo poo.

That Rall cartoon is exactly what you would expect a person who will never have to worry about being sexually harassed. Much like all the other ones saying "It's not that bad." Until something happens to you, you don't get to decide how other people should feel about it.
