Sony refuses my CC because it's not registered in the country it was fabricated. Every other place in the universe accepts it, though.

Here's maybe a better way for refugee missions to work: any ship with a cargo bay can take them, passenger cabins should be unnecessary. Some refugees offer to pay, some don't, and when you turn the mission in, you have the option to accept/decline the payment or demand to get paid (even with threats of violence). If you decline payment you get lots of extra reputation, and if you demand payment, you end up losing reputation, even more so if you use threats (which guarantee that you get paid though, when simple demands don't work...until space legs come along, in which case it will sometimes trigger a fight!). Maybe you'll even get a grateful pilot among the refugees who asks to sign on to your crew, or maybe offers you an interesting mission or a discount at their uncle's shipyard at cool dude starport. Also all other mission types will get cool dialogue stuff like this where you can choose to do different things and get different outcomes. Wait that's way too complicated for frontier, nevermind edit: maybe nonpaying refugees get picked up from the normal mission board, and are the ones who get chucked in the cargo hold like slaves, while paying customers get picked up in the passenger lounge like normal and get normal passenger amenities, and if the non-payers try to get into a passenger cabin, they get sent out the airlock...capitalism doesn't stop because of some dang aliens Rah! fucked around with this message at 14:31 on Dec 14, 2017 |

How do I go about getting that diamond frogs decal from the CG? I’ve turned in the mission and can’t seem to find it anywhere.

Every single one of you should go to Titan’s Daughter in the Taygeta system and do this damaged station thing because it loving owns. The station causes you to take extreme amounts of heat damage, and then you run the passengers to a nearby rescue ship. It’s awesome. FYI the rescue ship sells passenger cabins but not heat sinks.

Woah! I hope it stays like this for a while, I've just started equipping a brand new Diamondback Explorer and still need more time to get the money for finishing the fit.

Bring heat sinks and a shield generator. No matter how heat efficient your ship is you'll be over 100% heat as you leave the pad, and there is all sorts of debris floating about in the docking bay to run into.

Geez you guys should check out the Liman Legacy one that’s two systems over. It’s a large station that’s just wrecked. There are also explosions throwing the debris all around the inside of the docking area. As I was taking off my ship got bounced off the pad by an adjacent explosion. loving nuts.

Don’t take passenger cabins on your trip to the Pleiades. You can buy them at the rescue ship nearby. My Anaconda loaded with refugees nets me 1 million plus credits per trip, plus there’s tons of exquisite focus crystals, firmware, and other engineering goodies to extort for passage. So is this basically the exact same as the one the other guys are talking about but closer? Like still running refugees for cash?

Honky Dong Country posted:So is this basically the exact same as the one the other guys are talking about but closer? Like still running refugees for cash? Yeah it is the same set up as Titan’s Daughter but a different station model and it is wretched to poo poo. One of the spinning habitat rings is blown to bits and one of the reactor engines is a massive inferno. The rescue ship does not sell passenger cabins at this place. The one at titan’s daughter does.

Be careful if you take a Beluga or something, navigating inside that docking bay is actually pretty tricky. Definitely bring shields.

Yeah it’s a legit good content that’s not a boring hauling CG, and doesn’t require an engineered combat vessel. There’s also recovery missions available at the rescue vessel for escape pods from the station. Bring a collector limpet controller for those if you don’t want to risk going into the burning dock.

I found out you can make it in and out of one of the damaged stations without heatsinks if you are pretty quick. How do I know? I was so flustered by all the explosions and heat that I kept launching chaff instead of my heatsinks. By the time I got out my heat was over 200 but I survived with lots of hull damage.

I started to head there and at the beginning of my 12 jump trip I encountered a dwarf star. I thought I'd see if I could try the FSD boost thing for the 1st time in my Asp X only to not have the yellow border not show up as I approached it. So just as I hit the jet I was forced out of supercruise. It took a fair while of bouncing around as all my modules failed until I finally blew up. Needless to say I've not done any rescuing yet.

Have the 'night' sides of planets always been so bright when you're close to them/flying around on them? Even where there's no planet to reflect starlight onto the surface, the one I was on was kind of dully lit up. Looks really bad, I'm not sure why they have it set to brighten them up that much. There aren't even any shadows so the whole planet looks incredibly flat and fake. Maybe I just have a setting wrong though? i think I'm on VR high settings...

I did reboot twice while stuck and my hull was slowly being damaged. I couldn't maneuver well enough to get out of the jet before the module would fail again, sadly.

Don't bother with Dwarf stars. Neutrons are fine though - longer cones and a 4x jump boost

The only time I ever died to a jetcone was the time I impatiently rushed back to Qwnt to hand him my modular terminals. All 25. Also I'm no expert but I don't think a reboot will save you from the cone. If your poo poo is going offline you're probably already pretty cooked, and a reboot is gonna take more time you don't have. Really the best answer is to play it very safe and just tickle the end of the cone.

You need to remember to untarget your destination system. You will not be able to high-wake out of the star's jet. Do a supercruise jump and just fight to keep your ship aligned in the general direction of the supercruise escape vector. Source: I did this last night because I was in too much of a hurry to properly line up a pass, escaped with a canopy at 20% all other modules at ~50% and my hull at 60%. Also thirding the flying through the very end of the star's cone. Do not attempt to fly through anything but the very tail end of the star's cone, just line up with it with the star behind you and fly outward away from the star through the cone, so that unless you get flipped 180, you won't crash into the exclusion zone. I've flown through several dwarves now succcessfully, haven't tried neutrons but I assume they will be much easier. orange juche fucked around with this message at 18:29 on Dec 15, 2017 |

At a guess, at least till next weekly maintenance (early hours of Wednesday night server time). They don't tend to change states on things like that till downtime. If it's there after next weds night, you're probably safe till the following weds. Unless, of course, burning stations is treated differently, because reasons.
