Kentucky State Rep. Dan Johnson commits suicide on bridge in Mt. Washington posted by freeper gop4lyf Why, you ask? Well... the article posted:On Tuesday, Johnson held a press conference at his church on Bardstown Road, where he denied the molestation allegations. According to court documents obtained by the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting, the alleged molestation took place on New Year's Eve in 2012. The alleged victim, who was 17 at the time, told authorities that she was staying in a living area of the Heart of Fire City Church where Johnson was pastor, when Johnson, who had been drinking a lot, approached her, kissed her and fondled her under her clothes. The thread is one giant flamewar between multiple factions arguing about a) his political affiliation, b) whether or not it's OK for pedos to kill themselves, c) whether he was a pedo (no, just a molester), and of course, d) the definition of being a pedo I think freep might be a little wound up right now. dwfgator starts it out really classy quote:To: gop4lyf quote:To: gop4lyf quote:

I'd want to go to Alabama. I'm sure there's plenty to see and do, and I imagine it's awesome at chicken like Tennessee is. Edit: Hell, I just realized I have about no experience with southern food at all. Alabama would be a perfect place to get acquainted. I'm going to be fair to Alabama here: every state that isn't one of the the three prime BBQ states has some wackjob who comes along eventually and declares that they have created their state's "Official" state BBQ, and since all normal manner of decent sweet, spicy, and vinegar-y combinations is already covered under the umbrella of an existing locale BBQ, this new BBQ always loving sucks and nobody much actually eats it. Like, according to all internet sources Kentucky's state BBQ is supposedly a Worcestershire-based sauce used on mutton -- God knows why, sheep aren't that popular here and if anything you'd think it'd be a bourbon based sauce -- but I have seen exactly two places serve this "Kentucky" BBQ, and one of them is closed now.

Listen I'm down with vinegar, the one true sauce that God personally handed down to Ed Mitchell. I'm fine with molasses based even though a lot of it is HFCS garbage. I'll even allow that mustard-based crap that South Carolina calls BBQ. But white sauce? Mayo? getthefuckouttahere with that poo poo that ain't proper 'cue.

That gets out of hand fast When I left Texas and moved to DC for work, I started dating a woman from South Carolina. We had a cute schtick of pretending to begrudge each other's regional style of barbecue... but it tended to quickly get less-cute and take on some hostile sincerity. I still argue that barbecue is properly beef brisket with some burning on the ends, and that just putting a pig in a hole in the ground doesn't make it "barbecue". In DC I also encountered the horror of UK/Irish/Australian people referring to grilling as "barbecuing".
