Apparently there was an electrical fire, and their backup generators got cut out of the loop somehow. Just a reminder: This is like the 4th or 5th major electrical issue that anything Delta related has had, they had two Data Center power issues last last year where their backup generators didn't kick on and half their UPSes were dead.

That data center was at their headquarters on the grounds of ATL right? I would assume that the airport authority would be responsible for the backups and not delta, but...
