I guess a reason might be "because no one cares and it would serve no narrative purpose," which, fair enough.

actually that makes me wonder if there are any cosmic Marvel empires that aren't some kind of wretched autocracy. The Kree Supreme Intelligence, the Skrull Empress, J'son of Spartax, all the jerks who have led the Shi'ar including Gabriel loving Summers, Black Bolt, etc.

Is Wakanda presented as specifically oppressive (to its own people, anyway)? I thought they were at least kind of post-scarcity from that famous remark about the cancer cure.

On occasion, the LOSH handles the future alien races as having just normal governing bodies. Except Colu which has a mad dictator for some reason.

"Is coming back" should be taken with a grain of salt. The last time iron man was almost back to the status quo, he got an adopted brother.

T'challa has been not king since the Shuri mini came out like 5 years ago. My point being these "changes" from the status quo are lasting a really really long time now.

E: and like whether its 6 months or 3 years or 6 it doesn't matter cuz uh, it gets reverted. Which is why i said he'll always (in the long game) be king so wakanda will never change to republic/democracy/whatever

Honestly, though? I'd rather give him RYV, since he's gone on record how much he loves the Spider-Marriage, and he would basically not have to worry about any crossover malarkey getting in the way of telling his story.

He's still the king though? That's why I said he should still have an active role in government. It makes Wakanda more democratic, plus it allows him to have more time to adventure while still conflicting with that and generating angst.

Yeah. The ending took it from 'I don't like this' to '...Yeah, this was okay'. It was also a pretty decent Bendis sendoff.

From my perspective, I think Bendis wanted to be the one to do that story, because he probably figured "When I'm gone, someone's going to do this story. So I might as well do it right, and not have it be for wrong reasons." Like how Morrison killed Damian

That said, i'm just really hoping that whoever takes over ignores it and has Miles be Spider-man regardless.
