Marvels had a hosed up status quo for like 10 years, I don't think we can even use that word anymore The closest Thor has had to a status quo recently is what, when his city floated in Oklahoma?

The last time iron man was almost back to the status quo, he got an adopted brother. T'challa has been not king since the Shuri mini came out like 5 years ago. My point being these "changes" from the status quo are lasting a really really long time now.

Tchalla abdicates during infinty...unless hes done it more than once? which like lol if he has E: and like whether its 6 months or 3 years or 6 it doesn't matter cuz uh, it gets reverted. Which is why i said he'll always (in the long game) be king so wakanda will never change to republic/democracy/whatever site fucked around with this message at 03:05 on Dec 25, 2017 |

It makes Wakanda more democratic, plus it allows him to have more time to adventure while still conflicting with that and generating angst.

Good timing on this what with the Spider-man animated movie coming out I think Marvel needs to keep things more in the status quo when big movie marketing is in effect. Your probably getting a lot of people interested in Black Panther comics now and it's going to be super weird when things go all Star Wars

From my perspective, I think Bendis wanted to be the one to do that story, because he probably figured "When I'm gone, someone's going to do this story. So I might as well do it right, and not have it be for wrong reasons." Like how Morrison killed Damian

Lets be fair about what Covok mentioned: Bendis has done worse to Miles this year than having him retire the name Spider-man. That said, i'm just really hoping that whoever takes over ignores it and has Miles be Spider-man regardless.
