Electric Phantasm posted:You know what we haven't seen in a while? A "if global warming why cold" cartoon. While western North America burned to the ground this year. No biggie. The jet stream is acting strange! There couldn't possibly be a reason for it's frequency and amplitude to be increasing, like maybe there's more energy in the system. Nah. It still got cold when our hemisphere was pointed away from the sun so global warming is clearly a myth.

I love how Steve Kelley's schtick is that he's just a regular-dude sllllllllightly right-leaning centrist with nothing but Main Street values and common 'Merican know-how and also Donald Trump Is Right About Everything, and he illustrates it through this plain, boring style. I mean, at least Trumper-fluffers like Branco and Lester have the courtesy to accompany their poo poo views with poo poo art. Skelley's gonna be the first mainstream cartoonist we follow to drop an n-bomb and it'll be in the service of such somnolent Trump support that none of us will notice it. Oh, also, Obama didn't golf or vacation all that much and you dumb loving wingnut cheerleaders were wrong then and you're even wronger now trying to cover for it, mercy.

Jesus would have absolutely loved a strong social safety net. If there is one thing Jesus was unequivocally for, it was helping the poor and the sick. Mallard's own justification is that the poor in America are lazy, entitled leeches who want others to pay for their excesses: On the other hand, I've spoken with conservatives who say the Catholic Church should be in charge of all health care services in the United States, since the Vatican has mountains of money and can afford it, and Christian charity is better than gubmint waste, right? Newsweek posted:President Donald Trump signed a $700 billion defense expansion on Tuesday—but it's unclear how he'll pay for it or how the huge boost to defense spending will not also add to the national deficit.

If people are giving you scented candles for Christmas then the problem may be that you suck too much to be worth putting any effort into. Or no one knows you well enough to get something decent for. So really, I'm not surprised. Catholics in charge of health care has been tried and hoooooo boy is that a loving bad idea. For more reasons than you'd think!

Garrison posted:President Trump accomplished a lot during his first year. He almost immediately ended the Trans Pacific Partnership, which was a bad deal for American workers, because their jobs were being sent overseas. He refused to go along with the Paris ‘climate change’ accord, which punished America in particular. Climate change is science purchased by globalists, who want to use fear to gain further control of our economy. Trump broke their spell. He’s for America first.
