Hazarding a guess, Pope Francis is attempting to save the Catholic Church after a history of abuses of power and canonizing bigotry have left it near death.

Dunno if thats real and this is a super generic cartoon, or if I'm AGCing it.

Garrison posted:

“(Schumer is) holding citizens hostage, in favor of non-citizens. Before this election, I never would’ve expected Democrats to be so open and brazen about their (lousy) plans, but here we are. Trump really does have a way of making his enemies tell the truth.”

I saw this post on Reddit and it was the direct inspiration for this cartoon. Senator Chuck Schumer apparently favors illegal immigrants over our country. Of course, I used the capitol dome to represent the country while fully realizing that the government is NOT the country. However, shutting down the government due to illegal immigration may not be the complete story. I suspect the Democrats are also trying to deflect from the FISA abuse memo, which leads to ObamaGate, a sordid tale of corruption far worse and widespread than Watergate.

That corruption runs very deep. Top ‘officials’ at the FBI and CIA have been politicized. As in bought out. They all expected Hillary to win. Now, like Hillary, they’re scrambling to put together a defense (Russia Russia Russia!) while destroying evidence of their criminality. It’s disgusting.

Lock them up. Lock them all up!

I worked with a guy in the animation business ... told me this story from way back in the Frank Sinatra/Bobby-Sox's day.

Sinatra had this show in a theater in NYC (I gather the New York's Paramount theatre).

The story is they had to clean the seats after the shows from the excited girls.

This also happened:

The contradiction I keep hearing from a Texan friend about everyone she knew growing up was "people are living day to day and have no time or energy to think about the world outside of their family and friends" and "they vote aggressively to gently caress over things and people far distant from them".

I don't think that's really a contradiction. It doesn't take that long to vote (especially if no one's trying to suppress your demographic group's voting), but it takes more time to learn about the issues and vote intelligently. If you see it as your duty to show up every couple years and hit the straight "R" button, you don't need to take the time to learn about the impact your vote has.

It's a thing Devin Nunes purports to have, but won't show anyone. It ostensibly details FISA court surveillance 'abuses' against the Trump campaign. Most likely, FISA granted surveillance warrants against the Trump campaign based on Steele dossier info or similar. It's not like it's hard to get a FISA warrant.

What??? I HOPE you're giving him time served for the PEFECT pun! See it's "Jumanji" but...instead of "Juman" it's "Shumer"! He's talking about Chuck Shumer but making his name the game name!! THERE IS LITERALLY NO BETTER WAY TO WRITE THIS MASTERFUL JOKE!

Note to self: "Shumer" replaces "Juman" (pronounced "Jewmon") instead just of the much better "Shumanji" which still gets the point across but reads better and fits the pun better. Anti-semantic or Stupid? (note to self: new game show?)

It would be hilarious if the #releasethememo campaign catches on and Nunes is eventually forced to release whatever crap he scribbled, and there’s nothing there. I remember something similar in 2001, where Bush’s press secretary started a rumor that Clinton had trashed the White House before leaving. A GOP congressman demanded an independent accounting, after which it turned out the whole thing was made up.

The whole point is not to have something, it's to LOOK LIKE they have something. The whole thing is pointless and they know it but the optics of "We're still looking into Benghazi because OF QUESTIONS!!" hurts Hillary's numbers and...wait hold on...another thing? Ok sorry, my bad: the whole POINT is that they start shouting "FIRE! FIRE!" and have their people start screaming about smoke, their people KNOW there's no fire but they can reasonably doubt it away (or just ignore it when it turns out to be nothing) it is just despicable that a small, already investigated issue such as classified emails could cause such ruckus with nothing but rumors and innuend-oh? What? Oh is it O'Keefe again? No? poo poo.
