Additional schadenfreude on the part of MSU where he worked at before the news broke. MSU is in hot water for helping cover it up, and their idea of dealing with it is to set up a fund for the parents and victims instead of paying reparations directly. I know this because my family got a letter from them asking for donations to the fund. So far, it’s resulted in a major professor resigning and a few protests being planned. And this is all just in one day and it’s bound to get worse for MSU in the future when the lawsuits start flooding in. https://www.lansingstatejournal.com...pon/1063432001/ As someone who had a sister on one of those MSU sports teams, I’m going to enjoy watching getting MSU and Nassar get screwed over. Update: I just reread the letter from MSU and it’s even worse than I remember. It essentially acknowledged that she was on a sports team and might have been a victim or have known one, but please send us donations for the victims because we can’t be bothered to actually take money out of our coffers to actually help fix the mess we helped cover up. They can go get hosed even more. Nicaden has a new favorite as of 01:19 on Jan 25, 2018 |

The university ignored the reports. USA Gymnastics ignored the reports. The NCAA ignored the reports. Worse than ignored, actually, since all these organizations at one point told the people making the reports to shut up, or even threatened their careers. Hell, up until a few days ago MSU was still *billing some of these victims for their appointments with Nassar*. And this is how the president of the NCAA reacts. http://www.espn.com/college-sports/...earing-schedule quote:NCAA president Mark Emmert, speaking to media at the NCAA convention in Indianapolis, said he didn't know enough about the Michigan State situation to offer detailed comment. This is yet another example of how the NCAA needs to be nuked into oblivion by the Sherman Act and the ground salted so that nothing can grow. But, hey, the NCAA's launching an investigation, so decades of abuse will be quickly solved in a week or so. Just like they were after Penn State, right? The USOC is asking the entire board of USA Gymnastics to resign. Because when you've done something so staggeringly corrupt that even an *Olympic committee* has the moral high ground, it ain't good. Nassar deserves every bit of what he got and more. But venting all your spleen on him shouldn't distract you from the other people involved in this who deserve to dance on the end of a rope, the whole toxic and corrupt environment that tolerates and excuses this human garbage. Burn it all.

Note that MSU also did a Title IX investigation of Nassar...and cleared him. I dunno why everyone is hoping the dude goes to genpop and gets beaten up once in a while. Lock him in maximum security solitary where he never sees it hears another human again for the entirety of his sentence. Same generic meat loaf bread thing for his 3 square meals a day, and set up a webcam to film him slipping into insanity. If he requests reading or listening material, audio transcripts of the trial sounds fair. Let him spend the remainder of his days as a cautionary tale. You molest over 190 girls? You get shunned from humanity in general. Your only living space is a beige cell, no window, and a wire covered light. Enjoy the next 154 years.

The real schadenfreude over all the Nassar poo poo is realizing that once Penn State's football program didn't get the death penalty for what Sandusky did, no other college with a too-powerfu sports division had to really worry about the results of poo poo like this. Had the threat of "poo poo, we could actually lose our money-maker, which is what we actually care about" been there, poo poo might've been different.
