Wow. I never thought I would be sitting here wanting to make a totally normal plainclothes glamour, but here we are.

Aren't there a couple pairs of pants that look suspiciously like jeans with the right dye?

Why settle for "suspiciously like jeans" when the Tantalus leg piece is just dad jeans?

So I've been doing a playthrough of all the mainline FF games and I've been hearing a lot of people tell me that the 14's story holds up well to the series overall.
I plan on giving it a try.

If I am playing it essentially like a single player game most of the time and mostly for the story is there a certain class or build that'll make it easier for me? I'm not terribly interested in min/maxing, loot grind, or other MMOy type stuff in general.

One thing I should stress is that, starting at level 10, you can pick up any and all classes save for a few that are locked behind the expansions (and getting access to all three starter cities, but that's very early on as well).

Having burned out on WoW several times over before trying FF14, I absolutely see where you're coming from on MMOs, but I sincerely hope you enjoy this extremely anime, extremely beautiful MMO made with love. Please take the time to do sidequests, talk to NPCs and read item descriptions, particularly quest items, as they often contain nuggets of fantastic writing.

Enjoy!

Speaking of NPCs, some of the best dialogue comes from speech bubbles that pop up while you're wandering nearby. They managed to take "talk to everyone" and successfully carried it over to an MMO.

To clarify: Practically-speaking, within your starting city. Inter-city transports are unlocked at MSQ level 15. If you start in either Gridania or Ul'Dah, and you really want a job whose guild is in the other city, you can carefully run from one to the other, but Limsa is an island and can't be run to or from, obviously.

That was reasonably written at least. WoL and Lyse would be the types that couldn’t sit around while everyone else was making a grand feast.

And then of course you needed to immediately head off on another fetch quest. If you stayed you’d say that was a NQ i45 meal at best and then craft them a HW 60*** meal to show them how it’s done. You destroy their morale and they throw the Nadaam.
