Given the options I'll fuckin' take it. Also I live in Germany now and I'll have my EU Blue Card in June. I've got backups to my backups. My goal in life is to chase the ever-dwindling bubble of civilization around the globe until I die, leaving no children behind when that bubble finally pops. The Cabinet files release is dumb, BUT also humbling. Oh, your leader Abbot released some files from a previous cabinet's tenure, relating to a commission questioning a government program during that cabinet's time? SHOCKING. I get that the worry is it opens subsequent governments up to being picked apart by their predecessors, but Trump has really changed what I consider 'tossing out political decorum'. It was still handled in the most utterly political manner possible. You guys are so lucky to have a GOVERNMENT! And.....there was a government program to get houses insulated and stimulate the economy? WOW. That would never fly here!

That's not the best part, the best part is when the subsequent government, after flaying them in opposition, spent millions on a Royal Commission to try and find criminal blame for the scheme and destroyed a Minister's career because he was a former rock star. The scheme could not enforce insurance since that was a state not federal matter and mysteriously no one said anything about it until a death. The "pink batts waste" has been a successful narrative ever since, despite the incredible waste they went on to make. Turns out the worst thing you can do to a neoliberal is to successfully apply Keynes.
