A new Just Before Dawn track was released. They've always sounded like Bolt Thrower, but they've got Dave Ingram (Bolt Thrower) doing guest vocals on this track which seals the deal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgI9AXCTBYk

I respect Saxon, but they just don't do anything for me. The first third of Saxon's career is great stuff. Straight-ahead metal that had a unique attitude and energy I can't really describe. Then during a fight with their label they weren't allowed to perform for several years and they just...lost the magic. A few personnel changes later and they now do run-of-the-mill power metal. I guess I'm glad they're still around, but the stuff they put out these days is phoned in.

joem83 posted:Did anyone actually get the knife? I did, it's pretty amazing. I mean, as a knife it is terrible, it's cheap chinese steel that isn't very sharp and cannot hold an edge even with a lot of effort put in with an expensive stone. I've used it to open quite a few boxes and it's basically like a butter knife now, it struggles even with envelopes, although it is pointy. It makes me laugh though, which is a first for a knife I've ever owned so it's worth its weight in gold. It cracks me up to imagine the factory it came out of shaking their heads at the dumb americans that had it made, as they gleefully stamp a huge "CHINA" right beside "DYING FETUS WRONG ONE TO gently caress WITH". It's kind of like the Alestorm of knives - it's not very technically proficient and doesn't really do its job except to exist as a punchline, but despite this I am confident there is someone out there who thinks it's actually good TollTheHounds fucked around with this message at 20:49 on Feb 5, 2018 |

Not that any of you care too much or at all, necessarily, but I have changed my opinion on The Dusk in Us. I think it's pretty good now, although it wouldn't make my top 3 for Converge albums, which would be You fail Me, Axe to Fall, Jane Doe, in that order.

I liked it, started out thinking it'd be in the napoleon dynamite category then it turned into a crime caper. Still should have used a Saxon track though.

Man ,back in my day cheesy power metal was bad but some of it was fun as gently caress, sure raphsody was an italian parody of manowar with added vivaldi wanckery but emerald sword was a really awesome song that instantly got stuck in your head and you would sing the chorus to it unprompted at really unoportune times, like a bussiness meating,or when taking a poo poo ,or having sex.nowadays kids and their watsnapachats and everyrhings gonne to the dogs and my toys actually had lead in them because i wanted it,lead is metal as gently caress.its a disgrace. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5kLxQGbRYg
