Sounds like the reason I left one of my previous jobs. New director of client services came in. The first sign that things were going south was when she wrenched her dell off the dock with out pressing the unlock button and broke it. Then she proceeded to rehash all the poo poo we had done the last year including our denials for updates. The CFO had told us to keep the budget tight and she was like nah bros, make the customers happy. But she didn't talk to the CFO and so we were the ones getting bitched at by both sides. She also didn't seem to understand the reason we only supported 3 laptop models and 3 desktop models was so we could easily keep backstock and have quick swap ins. (we had a flux of like 2000 people on contract constantly in and out with only 7 people in service desk to support, we had everything set up so we were prepared to move 50+ desktops/laptops with in a week) . She started telling us to order stupid one of poo poo that we didn't have the time to support. Our quality of support started going down. peaced the gently caress out. gently caress that place.

I have no love for Google, but I sure would like to get moved to SOMETHING non-MS. I found that most people prefered the Gmail interface once they got used to it and where shown how it worked. Specifically my email hoarders liked that they didn't have to constantly clean their inbox, and had a search that actually worked. Conversation view was by far the biggest hurdle. But I am biased... I have been using Gmail personally as my primary email since it was invite only.

The last one I found that had office hours after 5pm didn't take insurance and was $250 per hour. This was not some swanky Beverly Hills therapist to the stars, either. I stopped looking. This just isn't an option for me.

You know, like being addicted to lovely IT jobs that give you heart palpitations. CBT worked for me, and see my old banner, which thankfully isn't very relevant any more. The big advantage of CBT is that it is mostly a programme of training yourself out of your bad mental habits, so you don't need to keep up the expensive sessions, which is why the NHS dove on it hard. Also, in the long run it works as well as the hyper-pricey weekly session types of talking therapy, at least from the last studies I saw. If you can find it, I'd recommend it Dick. Not the other type of CBT though, unless that's your thing.

Owners kid has project going where they are putting in access card readers at some of the doors. Yes, I said some of the doors. Like 3 out of 8. He's not here today for some reason. Electrician and security door guy show up. I showed them the poo poo hole wiring room. "There's no room to mount our equipment on the wall." Yup, that's why I showed you. Nobody came out to look before you came out? Now the electrician is out in the production floor/warehouse trying to figure out how to wire the place without a scissor lift.

Things pissing me off: People that CC the Helpdesk e-mail that auto-creates tickets. When they do that and we reply to the ticket, it creates a god drat loop that makes the ticket basically useless.

Dick Trauma posted:I stopped looking. This just isn't an option for me. Yeah, I had similar issues a few years ago, but eventually found one that would just charge me a rate that equalled the $88 she got from the insurance company or whatever because she was technically "out of network." Seconding the opinion on the usefulness of CBT as a training mechanism that will eventually wean you off of regular sessions and let you go down to something maybe quarterly just as a checkin, if that. I was skeptical, but a good friend basically insisted that I give it a shot, and it was massively more useful than I expected. It was basically the last step in a long process of sorting myself out, and I just wasn't able to lock the last bits down myself, even though I had a very good handle on what was "wrong" and what I wanted my outcome to be. And I wouldn't even say my therapist was especially amazing at it, but the method just gave me enough direction and strategy to work. I'm not you, but given the amount of bullshit you deal with, I can't imagine you wouldn't receive something positive from the effort. Also, yeah, there are online options that are still better than nothing, such as https://moodgym.com.au
