If I had to pin down a problem with the Women's rumble, it'd be that besides Asuka and Sasha, it didn't really push anybody in any meaningful way. The men's rumble earlier that night, in addition to putting over Nakamura, did a great job rehabbing Finn and starting Cena's "I just wanna go to Wrestlemania  " story. I guess Ember Moon looked pretty good. But it didn't really make use of a chance to give shine to a lot of different women.

Obvs that they leaned hard on the vets because they were worried about the Ladies' Rumble not having legitimacy. Also obvs that's their own fault because of booking decisions. I don't think next year's Rumble – hopefully they have it – will be so legacy-intensive. But they need to get to work.

It makes sense to do that for the first one with all the history build they were giving it. Once it becomes a normal thing, if it stays at 30 I would imagine NXT fills most of the spots with a couple of surprises like the men's rumble.

From what I heard, Marconi heard that some guys had paid time to do some training. He made fun of them and set up for them to run in on him some he could beat them down to look good. He apparently took liberties with them and the powerbomb was horrendous. A midwestern wrestler by the name of Shane Rich appeared as an extra on RAW. 2 days later he was on a local indie’s show and spent the entire time talking to the wrestlers about how big he was. At the end of the show, he was supposed run away as the faces stopped him from beating up a guy. As the faces checked on the guy, Rich went into business for himself by running back in and attacking them (they were two of the youngest wrestlers). He shoot piledrived one and shoot powerbombed the other one. After the show, the wrestlers were pissed but Rich kept saying how it was great heat for everyone. The guys running the company agreed because he was a “big name”.

There's a story about a guy who was significant in his own indy, wrestling Koji Kitao, giving him the ugly American treatment, speaking real slow and explaining that they work light in the states. Kitao mutters something about speaking English, then later destroys him with a chokeslam so hard it dislocates the idiots' shoulder. I hope something similar happens to Marconi.
