Wait a minute, it's a video game, they could just call the sequel "Wreck-It Ralph".

Wrecking this Ralph combo. Mary and the Witch's Flower managed to be simultaneously pretty, and rather mediocre. In retrospect; kind of happy I saw this subtitled, it kept me from noticing even *more* details that the studio/director (probably) hosed up.

I know it was just a "teaser" and not indicative of what the actual movie itself will be like, but jeez that wasn't a very good first impression for me. I kept getting Emoji Movie vibes and a lot of the background characters felt like they belonged in a different movie. The first Wreck-It Ralph is one of my favourites, so I guess I'll reserve judgement on this one until we get a better idea of what the actual plot is. I'm also somewhat disappointed because I was hoping a Wreck-It Ralph sequel would involve PC games so there could be a TF2 cameo, but that would involve people actually acknowledging this dead game, so I guess it was unlikely anyway. Also also, was that baby Moana at the end?

Wreck-It Ralph 358/2 Days The first movie was good enough that I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt, but that trailer is... not great. I certainly don't think there are going to be a lot of kids, or even adults, who'll be getting really excited that they recognized the TripAdvisor or National Geographic logos.

Between the Beard Poppa product placement/name-drop and the jpop single they used for Sugar Rush WIR was weirdly Japan-focused. Though considering how many of the cameos were from games made by Japanese studio s I guess it makes sense. Neon Noodle posted:Hey kids, all your favorite brands! It's the sequel to a movie where Nesquik and Laffy Taffy were plot points and the climax hinged on Mentos, it's disappointing but not unexpected. It is odd that the first image they released featured a bunch of fake websites that real ones would feature so prominently in the final film. Maybe after so many people confused their GrubHub parody for a PornHub one they decided to just toss out ambiguity entirely?

Something I appreciated with Bolt was that Mindy-from-the-Network wasn't a villain. She had a difficult job to do wrangling an insufferable manchild of a director so that her shareholders wouldn't fire everyone in that room. The director just took things personally and did a stupid petty thing that was calculated to piss off his fans and inadvertantly freaked the hell out of his star dog on top of that. The director was the worst person in that movie IMO. The only thing saving Penny's agent from that title is that he has no real influence. I especially liked the scene between her and Penny when she talks her into trying to move on with the new dog - if the show is allowed to grind to a standstill a lot of good people are going to lose their jobs. Penny has a really hard decision to make, and Mindy just lays it all out on the table, gently but without sugarcoating or condescending to her. Mindy is a really nice person with a difficult position.

I wouldn't be shocked if they were still working out specific licensing agreements when that promo pic came out, and used fake brands to get the general idea across without possibly messing with any of the deals they had in motion.

Wreck it ralph had fun product placement because it's like, video game characters, that someone might have nostalgia for, it seems like they aren't even doing some "it's online games!" stuff, they are just going directly to "hey, a product" in a really dumb and bad way like the emoji movie or food fight or something.

Everybody jumping to a lot of conclusions about Wreck-It Wralph Wreck-Its the Interweb in here. We got, like, less than a minute of stuff about the Internet in there and people are saying it’s gonna be the next Emoji Movie based on that. When I saw the first teasers for The LEGO Movie I couldn’t see how it could possibly be a good movie, but it wrocked. I’m pretty far from writing this movie off because of one teaser with kind of an iffy bit in it.
