If you like saltzpyre's rapier, give sienna's ceremonial dagger a shot. I find it behaves similarly under most circumstances, and I didn't have any range issues when using it. The thing seems to have a healthy amount of razor wind on its swings.

Boy howdy is her default career garbage, though.

i like how pyromancer gets a trait at level 10 which doubles the rate you passively vent heat as long as someone's carrying a grimoire, straight up giving it a far superior version of the battle wizard's entire passive bonus that doesn't turn off for 8 seconds every time you use a staff, while also having it's own passive and active abilities that aren't worthless, effectively obsoleting battle wizard entirely if you've grabbed a grimoire

the skittergate is the reason that the nurgle warband is in the area, yes. the team did nothing to break it as of the start of VT2, though. the gray seer from VT1 basically refocused after losing a lot of his clan in the ubersreik debacle and forged an alliance with the warband to get his plans back on track.

the skittergate is unreliable but that's way more because skaven engineering sucks than anything we've seen the team do.

I mean, I don't think having to fire more than 1 shot to kill specials is a bug or some terrible gameplay flaw. Like, poo poo, you actually have to put effort into killing specials right now, oh no the horror. I just shoot a few times no matter what, if I waste an arrow here and there it's not a huge deal, that poo poo happens anyway with the usual gangbang on specials as soon as they appear. If I happen to land a headshot instead of a bodyshot, then great, if not they usually stagger a little and don't shoot people which is vastly more important than killing in one hit imo. Handguns probably need a step up in power since they reload so slow, but everything else is fine. Plus we're not remotely at the point where everyone is getting maxed out gear. There is a ceiling on Hero Power, and that will be where weapon balance matters. Until then, just use the poo poo that works for you and isn't obviously terrible.

one shotting high value targets is literally what sniper weapons are for and the only one that currently does it well is the elf longbow. kruber's has the power but his has enough spread to make it unreliable at its job. that's kind of an issue tbh. handguns and crossbows both are affected by this.

"you can only judge it in a specific situation that comes after playing the game for dozens of hours" is also not convincing argument to me.

God, I can't wait to try and make mods for Vermintide.

Things I have in mind:
-Rat sticks (nailbats) as weapons (maybe modified maces/hammers?)
-Huntsman Kruber as Doomguy and replacing the blunderbuss with the super shotgun, including sound effects
-Model replacements fitting the characters' personalities/mechanics.

Ranged fall off doesn’t make much sense at all when the limiter for non ranged classes of having less ammo is already pretty solid. How much does it affect damage?

trust me when i say that the low ammo counts will force this behavior independent of falloff

How's Kruber's Repeater this time around? It was very mediocre in VT1 until the big rebalance after which it was by far my favourite ranged weapon.

I know you’re joking but for the sake of preempting any similar argument people try to make for why it’s somehow necessary, the fact that two careers don’t have falloff at all automatically invalidates this

The devs obviously wanted specialized roles. How well they succeeded in this is up for debate.

Have I been misinformed, or is the Dwarf Ranger, a ranged class, susceptible to falloff anyways? It doesn't even make sense as a class balancer.

dwarf ranger is subject to falloff, yes. the overall effect is to incentivize using the grudgeraker even more.

Ranged Falloff would've been fine as a specific thing on a couple of weapons rather than an across the board idea. The thing that annoys me most is the variable hits-to-stick being based on power partly, because it makes it a lot harder to tell how many dudes I can keep bullied at a time as compared to ratfight 1.

At the same time I've re-unlocked hobo-with-a-shotgun Kruber and I have to say I'm unhappy they robbed him of his previous silly burgher hat for the hood. At the same time you guys weren't kidding about 'hit F to equip portable cannon'.

If you're level 25, you also have the option of getting a staff trait that reduces the cooldown on your talent ability by 5% per crit, and then the talent that makes you vent all overcharge when you use your talent ability. You're basically trading a slight amount of horde killing power in exchange for your Delete Special button being always up. Either way is busted as hell.

What the hell? Crafted a new 181 executioner's sword for Huntsman Kruber to replace his old 151 ES. It raises his hero power from 292 to 298. However, it does less damage, with the best case scenario (crit heavy headshot) having a difference of 1k damage (6k old vs 7k new)?

Muddying the waters even more, his blunderbuss has no damage difference between the two swords? The hell is going on?

EDIT: Now the same thing's happening with Saltzpyre and a new set of pistols. What's up with this math?

I think whoever said it a couple days ago was right: they put the damage change for Huntsman in the notes but didn't actually change the ability in game.
