I moved her from far northern Chicago suburbs and people here are shocked when I tell them that the cost of living in Oregon is LESS than it is in Illinois.

My place in the SW Chicago suburbs was about $1300/mo for a 2BR in 2015. Current place in the couve is ~$1250/mo for a 2BR. Prices here go up about 5% every year, so betting next time I need to re-up the lease it'll be equal.

I know people who bought a house and then bought a second one without selling their first home. This was pre-2012 boom prices and they wouldn’t be able to do it today, but they do exist. One couple has a household income of less than $100k.

Remember how we thought the Democrats were going to cut the car tabs funding ST3 without finding another funding source? Don't worry, everybody, Jessyn Farrell (in retrospect, so loving glad I didn't vote for her for mayor) and the Democratic party have come through! They're going to use funding for homeless children and education to make up for a bunch of it! Inslee seems keen on where the winds are blowing, but at the same time he didn't support $15 an hour statewide. I still think he's a centrist, playing to the non-economic issues farther than most dems in an effort to stave off an actual socialist challenger come 2020.

I don't think there's enough momentum to get an actual legit socialist challenger to topple Inslee. I'm sure someone will make an effort but he will cruise in. The bigger question would be when he steps down and does Bob Ferguson run in that instance.

Similarly, until the state stepped up a year or two ago and fixed it, there was technically no age restriction on vape products, but most of the big national retailers wouldn't sell them to minors anyway, because they didn't want the negative press. I mean - let's be honest, age restrictions on guns are pointless fell good measures that accomplish nothing beyond some nice press. But the sudden outcry of "Oh my god, these businesses sometimes have stronger age restrictions than the state law requires" is really silly.
