I like the new toxin, even with no armor saves. It reinforces the Eschers as glass cannons who can do some damage with the right engages, as opposed to goliaths who just wade in and soak up damage as they swing.

Bit more emphasis on shooting in Neocromunda but yes still pretty all-round.

Emphasis seems to be on Tenacity - lots of tactics cards that allow them to do stuff while injured or recovering from broken.

Also I think the rules for the harpoon launcher look great. Heavy weapon that isn’t unwieldy? Very nice. Dragging fools off ledges? Even better.

While I would absolutely love a new plastic Diggas gang to add more Kultists to my Heretic Orkstartes, this will likely never happen unless they decide to re-do GorkaMorka.

Supposedly chaos cults in an upcoming WD, and the rest of the house gangs on slow drip.

Nothing official on new or Outlanders gangs, but I did hear something about a bounty hunter gang and enforcers.

It wouldn’t be difficult for them to make an Ork faction for Necro. There’s definitely fluff about periodic Greenskin uprisings from long-dormant spore infestations down at the hive bottom.

I might make this as my first Homebrew faction :orks:

The WD that has the Genestealer Cult rules also has a 3 page profile of a scratch built Scavvy gang made by John Blanche, and it says they're "for an upcoming game has has planned later in the year". I really wouldn't be surprised if we continue to see outlander gang rules in WD that use existing models from other kits.

Yeah you can just do this.

Would be fun for them to have a different campaign flavour though, like the classic Outlander gangs.

It is always weird to me that warhammer systems go hit-wound-armor rather than the obviously more sensible hit-armor-wound. Armor should be coming between your fleshy bits and the attack, not being some back up after your skin has failed to tank the bullet

It's a lot slower to go hit armor wound. Plus some attacks go through armor better for high rolling wounds.

The Blanche article states:

quote:

Thee last time we saw some of John Blanche’s miniatures was over a year ago when he surprised and delighted us with the models he created for the Pilgrym – a collaborative modelling, painting, writing and gaming project that involved fans of John’s work from all over the world. Since then, John’s spent most of his time at his illustrating desk working on new projects, but that hasn’t stopped him creating a whole new warband for an upcoming game that he’s got planned later in the year.

John Blanche is not a game designer, so I'm guessing this is a poorly written paragraph stating that that he created the warband for an upcoming game of Pylgrym he's planning out.

It would be so easy for GW to re-release GM, and it wouldn't cost them much - the only problem would be actually fitting boyz into the old trukks and buggies now.

It just be historics at this point, they way overproduced GM, to the point it nearly killed the company when it didn't sell as well as they expected. It's a big reason GW moved from specialist games for a while.

Surely they would just release it with modern Ork kits.

I suppose they could, but the profit margin would be far less for them. Plus, you'd need a much larger box to hold the modern kits.

GW was gaining ground in non-English speaking countries so when they launched GM they translated it to Portuguese, Italian, French, Spanish and German and printed up distinct versions for each country. The problem being, when you do that, you can't shift inventory based on demand. If they sold through their German printing they couldn't just ship some over from Italy where the game tanked and because they had so much capitol invested in the different language versions they couldn't really afford to resupply countries that ran out. They were losing so much money storing these boxes that they ended up just giving them away to anyone that subscribed to White Dwarf for a year.

Dual pistols are good. -1 accuracy for shooting two pistols but +2 accuracy for close range (which you should always be in).

I'll keep them. I've basically got 2 dual pistols, 3 cc and pistol, three rifles, whip and bolter leader (which I understand is poo poo so I might lose the whip) and a Chem flamer thing.

How do you get +2 accuracy? Do you get to apply the short range bonus for both or something?

No? I'm talking about stub guns not autopistols. -1 +2 = +1 overall. Two shots at 3+ are better than one at 2+.

Dual pistols also still grant you a bonus (albeit unarmed) bonus melee attack.
