Westworld tips for anyone starting.

After a little bit you will start getting guests that are a lot higher level than your Hosts. If you pair them with a host who is lower level the host will probably die and the guest will not be happy. It's better to let the guest sit idle than to pair them with a host who will die or glitch.

Don't worry about the hat color thing so much. It is great if you can do it but its better to use a host of a higher level than to use one lower that matches the hat.

When you open other areas the guests/delos employees out level your hosts by a bit. Same thing applies here. Use these to level up your higher level hosts.

Spend gems to buy the 2nd slots in the Biomaterials lab & the Body Shop. You will need both. Diagnostics is the only other one you might want to buy a slot it right away but do it after the other two.

Rebuilds - the sorting sucks so it is hard to know which types you have an excess of. But the farther I get in it seems that using low level ones to level you 2*+ guys is best, then you cna make more hosts and hope for a 2*+. If you get a 1* just send him to the grinder again and make another.

Host Manufacturing - Always create the Legendary hosts when you can because they are way better (multiple roles and 4-5*). Basic & Social hosts can be 1-3* level so do them before the One Star hosts as those (surprise) can only be 1*. Again if you get a 1* from the Basic or Social don't be shy about grinding them up and reusing them via Rebuilds.

Building Upgrades - If you have a building upgrade available don't be super quick to hit that button. First get the hosts and guests inside paired up and working. Then hit the upgrade. If you hit the upgrade first sometimes you cannot start the pairing and also guests will not enter the building even if they were already traveling there.

Hope that helps. I have all 4 locations open at this point but have barely started really. I don't have high enough guys to work the other locations well yet without them dying all the time.

I'd say 2 diagnostic slots is most important, you can keep your people from dying by just not sending them on missions they can't handle but you have to use diagnostics there is no way around it. Basically your people can be sent on X missions before they glitch, once they glitch they need to be diagnosed for a hour. You can send them early to reset their glitch % for 15 minutes but you have to manually check for that. You can only diagnose 1 person at a time but the additional spot lets you queue others so you don't have to sit there and refresh it every 1 hour or 15 minutes, either way it's still a major roadblock and massively annoying because after a while about half your people are in glitch mode if you try to even be semi-active with guest missions.

Also start doing the escalante stuff as soon as you can, each 5 minute mission there gets you 1 material and you need 20 materials + 30 3d printed mats to make the first (out of 4) levels of props for your hosts, it is an insane grind.

Hearthstone is my go-to, but if you want something with a less steep barrier to entry, try Shadowverse . It's very generous with free packs and stuff all the time (I think I got around 40 when I first started), has an interesting mythology that it pulls from, and coincidentally happens to be anime. It has several modes and a single player story mode to fool around in and learn in. The devs release expansions and balance patches constantly, since they're not a small indie company like Blizzard, which leads to more free stuff and keeps things fresh. Again, I still play mostly Hearthstone, but I've been playing since beta and have a sizeable collection to work with there.

KR - I feel like I'm kinda hijacking the thread, but nonetheless - is Oddy, the clockmaster raccoon decent? I feel like any teamwide skill can potentially break the endgame, so he's got to have a short leash.

Stamina - I'm coasting on 5k stamina since I've started playing. It is an expendable resource, but the event missions give you 1500 stamina if you spend 500.

Illiterate Clitoris

He does decent damage for a support character and his buffs are great, especially in 8 man groups. That said, there's no setup for endgame content where he is the ~optimal~ choice at least as far as I have seen. Still, investing in him a bit is not the worst thing one could decide on.

re: Stamina - A few patches back they changed giving out Hot Time stamina potions to the current 'daily activity for stamina'. I guess the idea was to stop people hoarding stamina pots for later events? It only lead to me completely giving up on cleaning out my stamina reserves every day and I'm now somewhere around 20k+ even while chain-running dragons for hours on end. Stamina was never a showstopper in this game.

king's raid seems to be all about the 'silver bullet' characters (gau being a dragon raid specialist is the simplest example) for various game modes; you're not going to run just four characters once you hit level cap, especially since the characters that will efficiently take you to level cap probably aren't going to be the same ones you want to bring into raid.

I mean kind of. You need a mix of people for dragon/challenge raids, because you can't duplicate anyone across the 9 slots. So if you've only got your core 4, it's real easy for someone else to bring in their version of that and you to have no good options. According to the tier list, Gau is real good in everything but Guild Raid, non-raid PvE, and is only Good at World Boss 1 (earth ele I think, water is 2). Ultimately you can make most people viable with their Unique Weapon and well-rolled T7 gear, as far as I can tell. I'm certainly not the most end game player we have, so I could absolutely be wrong. Like it says at the top of the tier list, the ratings are based on an ideal scenario for that person in that content. Taking Gau in a heavy magic damage team is likely not going to be as effective as Epis who is getting buffed multiple ways for example.

I run Mediana, Clause, Epis, Artemia everywhere right now. As I get more people to 80 and geared out (especially artifacts, too lazy to swap around), then I'll be far more likely to start prioritizing teams that synergize better. I am working on Gau right now for better Dragoning, especially since everyone runs Epis so it's really easy for my best (by far) DPS to get sidelined and me not able to contribute as much. Lucked into his UW so it's just a matter of getting to 80 and getting some basic T7 gear on him. And of course some Transcends.

I've been enjoying it in a very f2p way. Some small tips I've learned:

- Don't buy anything unless there's a quest for it. No sense in getting three decorations for your house only to get a quest later on to buy 5 new ones.
- Save up your cash (premium currency) until you can get a third Sim in your home, at least.
- When you hit level 5 (I think? Maybe level 6?) in a story, the quickest interaction of that story (the one that takes an hour or so) gets upgraded to give you better rewards. Level 8 upgrades the second level of interactions.
- Buy the career/hobby objects that give you a head start in the interactions. Most of them cost simoleons only, and are worth it.
- You can use the toilet/shower/bath/bed to give sims energy. There's a cooldown for them, but they're generally worth it.
- Also buy the decorations that increase the energy that these things give you, again, only if they cost simoleons. Cash is so flippin' rare that spending it on just objects is a waste. Obviously never spend it to speed something up.

DAY CREW: WORKING HARD

After trying and failing to find a new game to love I started over from scratch with Dandy Dungeon and it's just as amazing as I remember

Shwqa
Feb 13, 2012

I have been trying out Galaxy of Pen and Paper. The developers promised no IAP after what those other devs did with the second game.

Pros:
  • Much more variety of content. It took me a few hours to feel like I saw all the base content
  • Classes seem much more balanced this time around.
  • You have much more customisation with each character. It feels really good when you get a team going.
  • Exploration of a new planet is pretty fun. It is usually the first thing I do.
  • You can have multiple missions going on at once. One story line mission and a side quest. I highly recommend always having a main story quest on. A lot of main story are just reward like an new team member so you always want to check the next mission.

Cons

  • Start of the game is really slow. It takes an hour or two of just main story quest before actually having a full team with multiple skills slots.
  • Game is pretty easy
  • The main storyline is super repetitive. They have lots of different sprites and enemies but for the main story you will be same enemies and boss 5+ times. I can't actually remember any bosses you only fight once.
  • Almost all synergy requires a status effect to work. Most bosses can shake off a status before it does a single effect. I still uses status effects on bosses but there is always some turns wasted. And all boss seem to be immune to stun and slow so don't bother with those.
  • On the reverse your character are terrible at shaking off status effects. Most the time a status effect will last all battle including stun and confusion. Luckily every character has a cheap full party status effect heal.
  • Confusion is bugged, it doesn't get cured if you get hit. I perfected many bosses just by using confusion the first turn. The boss spent the entire fight hitting themselves while I unloaded on them. It is the strongest ability in the game.
  • Race are imbalanced. The race effects seem to have a 5% to go off so they are useless. Meanwhile gadgets are very powerful so humans are vastly superior.
  • Same with character abilites. Don't use the heal guy, cheevos girl, or extra exp girl. You can use healing item without wasting a turn. I can't find any achievements on the mobile versions. And mission exp is pathetic this game.

Overall it is probably the strongest of the series but it has a slow start and a lot of little things that holding it back from being a truly amazing game. If you a looking for a fun little RPG then here you go. If you have been buying all the humble mobile bundles then you already own the game.

Oh yeah it will. I haven't played it for a while, but the ideal strategy after a certain point is to no longer even use the prestige mechanic, because it doesn't really do much for you, and instead to just leave the game idling and tap on the random gold bonuses and ads whenever they show up to get more gold and level your weapon another increment. The gold you get for killing becomes inconsequential, like several orders of magnitude below what you need to level your gear once. Then in a patch they nerfed the gold gain from random gifts and ads, so that the only viable method of progress was even slower than it had been in the past. That was around the point that I gave up on it.

iirc maria loses her utility very quickly after hitting level cap (except in pvp, where she's excellent), since her entire point is CC and she's not very effective at depleting CC bars that you see in raid/world boss content. i've had some luck with using lorraine in that role, but in turn she's too slow to function well in pvp.
