No, it's a basic troop choice supported by a character. Big whoop.

You'll find that people will latch onto anything they can to explain why they lost a game other than that they lost the game. Because you took a very obviously intended pair of units together with the obvious stratagem to deep strike, people will complain of netlisting. Just roll your eyes.

WOM used to have a Demon list with one unit of screamers and one disc herald and all his opponents complained about Screamerstar, even though he wasn't doing that. He played Grey Knights before that and his opponents would complain that he was netlisting a Draigowing list despite the fact that he didn't have Draigo or even a single Paladin in his list.

I think what annoys me the most about it all is how your damned if you do or damned if you don't when picking your armies strength.

Agree to play fluffy and not too strong, then proceed to get cheesed off the table.

Include one unit of Bloodletters/herald, then get them called cheesy.

(not same person but just a frustrating situation with local meta).

If the person you're playing against can't handle dealing with a troops choice supported by what I assume is just an HQ they probably shouldn't play 40k. I don't think it would be at all reasonable to expect someone playing Khorne Demons to not have a bunch of Bloodletters

You want the story?
I'll spin it for you quick...
Man, I like 8th so much more than the last several editions. Even against "bullshit" lists, the game feels so much more fair. Every loss, I've been able to identify something I did that led to it or something I could have done to turn things around (except or the one dude that cheated and brought 200 points more and was applying rules he didn't actuall have access to because he was running 4 different imperial factions in the same detachment). Typically, it's because I forgot I could do something.

What rustles my jimmies about it all is that, I just want to play some hams and have fun.

It's not fun when me or my opponent is not having fun. I'm happy to base my list on preference of game type, but I loving hate all this misinterpretation on what's too strong or not.

Life and reality by extension is ludicris, the fact im getting annoyed over playing toy solders just proves this point.

I've got a Command Squad and a standard squad kitted out from 6th Ed with two meltaguns apiece. I'm strongly considering picking up two more kits and filling out two Tempestor Primes and a third squad (dropping the medkit guy to drop it to a MT Troop unit) for a relatively cheap +3CP and surprise melta delivery system.

Then again, I still need to finish assembling and start painting my Primaris Salamanders I've been looking at since Dark Imperium hit. ...And my two SC AdMech boxes.

And Necrons are about to hit... :smithicide:
