I wanted to see what Freep had to say about Mueller subpoenaing the Trump Orgnization: nothing. And unnervingly the very word "subpoena" itself has almost no hits all back to November, and what few it has are about subpoenaing: Hillary, and people involved in the FISA searches and Steele Dossier.

For another fun example, in August 2017 someone threw a pipe-bomb into a mosque outside Minneapolis during morning prayers (no deaths but extensive damage and community fear). Freep struck rock-bottom from post#1 and started digging:

I'm legit curious: how exactly is this negatively effecting Trump, presuming he's done nothing wrong?

It's not like Congress has curtailed the president's powers, or blocked his legislation over this, or really that anyone's pretty much done anything other than indict a bunch of his old cronies who he's dropped instantly the second they were a liability.

Is the argument that this is distracting people from the amazing job Trump is doing (which doesn't appear to be the factor slowing him down), or that it's a misuse of government time any money (compared to Benghazi XXXVII: Killary's Revenge), or what? If Trump isn't guilty, he shouldn't be losing any sleep over this, no? Or is the allegation damaging to our country by hurting the president's fee-fees?

Someone's going to feel stupid when the "finger gun" turns out to be a cocked-and-locked .45 Colt.

quote:

”Mueller always escalates after bad news for him. I guess he doesn’t have anybody else to indict right now.”

You’re exactly right. I’ve noticed Mueller doing this without fail every time doubts are cast upon his “investigation.” He just does it to distract. He’s also like a guy trying to rob a bank with nothing more than his finger under his shirt. Every time someone starts to doubt that he really has a gun he points his finger-gun at them and shouts at them to back off. It works for a while because just on the off chance that he actually is armed, no one wants to be the “hero” that ends up taking a bullet.

It’s all a bluff, of course. And in this case, the investigation itself is the weapon. The goal is just to stretch the investigation out infinitely, with no resolution, to maintain a phony cloud of suspicion over Trump.

This is one of the treacliest sickly-sweet Freep posts I've seen in a while: weep, weep for the man who might never again see one of the many golf courses he owns.

(bonus points for having just learned that US government agencies have... senior executives. As opposed to, I dunno, being led by the janitorial staff or something?)

quote:

I don’t see how restoration is do-able working within the system. I’ve recently learned about the SES, Senior Executive Service, which infiltrates every branch/department of government. They are the official Deep State, which our tax dollars pay for, who essentially tell people in authority what they will permit them to do and what they will not permit them to do. Thomas Paine had a few videos exposing it. Quite amazing.

I think DJT decided to run and serve because he is a true patriot who has a deep love of country, and thought he could save it. After he got in and saw the extent of the massive corruption and evil, and what was really going on, I think he may have a few regrets.

His family and love ones have suffered, he has endured so much hatred, etc. He made a remark when speaking with the Irish leader who was visiting him in the Oval Office recently. He wondered out loud if he would see his beautiful golf course in Ireland ever again in his lifetime. That remark made me so sad to hear. That’s when I thought he must be rethinking all that he sacrificed to serve his country.

But, he’s a fighter, enjoys the fight. So, who knows. My gut just tells me the country is too far gone, and the remedy required for restoration is too severe to be successfully implemented.

Hopefully, at some point soon, God has the intent to intervene and with His mighty Hand, once and for all, conquer the evil saturating every corner of this earth.

Oh, if it's a wrap-up I guess there's nothing to worry about when the president's business gets a federal subpoena.

quote:

This was reported months ago. Cahterine Herridge on FOX-—one of the top 3-4 reporters out there with Sara Carter, Greg Jarrett, Sharyl Atkisson-—said this is the “wrap up” and that it was a typical end-of-project subpoena that is seen when investigations are about to end.

It's my general impression that Freep is pretty obtuse about the fact that the president firing a special counsel investigating the president would be... a bad look. But I enjoy the guess that Trump's high-power lawyers are somehow unaware that Trump could have Mueller fired.

quote:

Trump doesn’t understand that he is in the constitutional right and Mueller as “special counsel” is in the constitutional wrong. He doesn’t yet understand he would be backed by the Constitution to fire this guy. I hope he figures it out soon. My guess is his counselors are not clear about this stuff either, since most of them have accepted the status quo even if they don’t like it, which is a grave error.

Trump is a quick learner. He’s been focused real estate all his life. He knows somethings wrong in D.C. that’s why he’s there. He needs to learn, and I think will, about THE REASON D.C. is so perverse: the Establishment Left (BOTH GOP and Dems) have perverted, ignored, and violated the Constitution at just about every turn.

There's definitely still debate about exactly what powers the president has that can be used unilaterally without punishment, and constitutional scholars are even unsure if the president legally can be convicted of crimes while still in office. Trump and his lawyers may try to combat the investigation by taking the most charitable interpretation (Trump can legally block any investigation into himself and is safe as long as Republicans are unwilling to impeach him), and from there it's a matter of whether or not the GOP still in power is willing to commit the ultimate boat rocking if he does so.

They aren't, but at the same time it looks like they were hit with massive drops in polls due to how they've handled this so far. Going down the route of straight up blocking the case when Mueller is finished drawing it would mean the next set of elections would make the US a one-party state and that party would be Democratic.

The fact that they were dumb enough to drop the House investigation, even for the sake of pretense, means they are either banking on maintaining power via undemocratic means to a degree we haven't seen, or they just miscalculated the results of their screwups and are too incompetent to fix their poo poo.

To be fair i don't think we've ever had a president that challenged the status quo in such a large and open way. I mean this is a guy that lies or commits fraud and brags about it. Normally people in office are smart enough to try and hide it

Yeah, we're in totally uncharted territory. A lot of these questions are unanswered because we've never had to answer them. We've never had an actual white collar criminal and rapist (who admits to both and basically taunts people into trying to do something) become the president before.

He fired a guy two days before his retirement. What an accomplishment.

AG Sessions did something. He actually did something. Not much, but it was something. Amazing.

McCabe threatened to sink everybody if he goes down.

I say he’s dead before Monday.

I will go ahead and give him a positive remark for this.

Good work, Mr. Sessions.

You have much more to do, however. As a second step, I’d like to see this corrupt agent prosecuted.

I’m sure DNC/Soros gave him triple the pension to keep his mouth shut. Still, at lease we are not giving him any more!

Think about this on a much broader context. An enemy army against the people's voted representatives runs amuck thru all branches of U.S. government and our biggest test of resolve is to fire them?

Our enemies abroad are laughing at our petty ineffectiveness. We are pathetic and weak.

I don't care who it is, this is a dick move. And any freeper that champions it should have their government assistance taken away

I think it's great.

gently caress McCabe, he interfered with the election and got a moron fascist elected. I have zero sympathy for him now that the scorpion he jumped on stung him.

Trump's only redeeming feature is his penchant for stabbing equally horrible people in the back after they put their faith in him.

Yeah, I'm not going to be shedding any tears over McCabe but I am going to laugh at just how petty this administration is to fire a guy right before he retires.

Like his death is gonna stop anybody. If enough people laugh at them long enough they'll make up The Deep Soros to blame.

Strength and speed, that's why you're a special agent.

Seconding this, they've already begun with this stuff. Once Soros passes away it'll all be about secret Bezos payments funding everything they don't like.

Dunno who comes after Bezos but based on the pattern so far let's keep an eye out for a guy with a vaguely Greek name with an eye for leftist politics and a knack for capitalism.
