Synth experiments in texture, melodic drones, noise. I use a few hardware synths and lots of virtual ones, new tracks every few weeks. All comments / feedback appreciated https://soundcloud.com/bombmotion

Hah, just twigged on to this project's name. That's a Pogues reference isn't it?

Grand Prize Winner posted:Hah, just twigged on to this project's name. That's a Pogues reference isn't it? Yes it is, the origin is explained in the soundcloud bio. It's from the tune "if I should fall from grace with god" but the phrase itself refers to the old naval legend that a drowning body would surface three times before sinking to death.

New tune, this one's not quite a cover, more of an interpretation. The Bonnie Ship The Diamond is an 1800's Scottish folk tune, about a whaling ship that sailed out of either Aberdeen or Peterhead and got stuck in a massive cliff of ice near Greenland. According to stories, it waited six months burning masts and wood to survive until it melted out and floated free. Anyway, here it is, stripped down and turned up, The Bonnie Ship The Diamond. https://soundcloud.com/cominupthrees/the-bonnie-ship-the-diamond https://mainlynorfolk.info/lloyd/songs/thebonnyshipthediamond.html

Possibly my favourite thing we've recorded so far, a take on Graham Moore's classic "Tom Paine's Bones". https://soundcloud.com/cominupthrees/tom-paines-bones It's seriously good, I rarely listen to my own stuff but I've had this on repeat for ages.

I'm working on a new project that sorta spun out of a thing I made for the synth thread compilation. It's a concept album about robots resurrecting dead people to turn them into the brains of spaceships, and they bring back a couple who died in a car accident. Which is great because they get to stay young and in love forever and explore space and all that. Anyway my musical goal with the whole project is to break out of my normal process and do stuff very differently from how I normally do it (using vocoders and lots of synths, using found sound, changing the way I compose entirely). This is so far out of my comfort zone that I don't even know what genre you'd call it, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it and other people seem to like it too. I've got six tracks mostly done but only three all the way finished: https://soundcloud.com/danwarren/who-are-you-now-1 https://soundcloud.com/danwarren/oh-you-temporary-thing https://soundcloud.com/danwarren/sail-or-anchor

I changed my recording techniques a few days ago, and ditched click tracks altogether. I now use cubase like an old fashioned reel-to-reel. I've also just received an 88 key keyboard controller, meaning I can finally ditch the microkey. I'm doing quick snapshots of ideas, and getting to know EW's & Uyanga Bold's new Voices of the Empire library. This is my first single-take piano and voice impro using the new keyboard. https://clyp.it/xydprsbh

A goon-made Doom / Stoner / whatever metal podcast - https://soundcloud.com/user-758985205 - is calling for listener bands for a new segment. The hosts will play a clip of a band, talk about (over) it, and possibly decide if the track is better with or without the effects of cannabis. It would be fun to feature some goon bands, and it would also be fun to stretch the musical boundaries of the podcast a bit, so feel free to drop a soundcloud/bandcamp link and lmk if you want us to feature it. I can't guarantee anything will get played, obv...

I have been away from music for 20+ years due to my stupidity back in the day. Let's just say groupies and wife are not a good mix. But now that technology allows us to remain kind of anonymous with music, she let me get a nice little home studio set up. So, why not. https://soundcloud.com/tom-pellegrino-146151417/tracks Fair warning, I don't really "DO" electronic very well, but I have some friends that are apeshit over it, so I made a few. I'm more chill/atmospheric/relaxing kind of zone out poo poo.
