“Too much emotion” is a silly statement along the same lines as “it’s too soon to politicize weekly massacre #736”. Up until now federal agencies were literally prohibited from researching gun violence, but the research data out in the world is pretty decidedly anti-proliferation. The heavy, illogical emotion seems to lie mostly with the confederate flag wavers threatening to murder crisis actors and not the kids who saw their friends’ brains explode in math class.

I am for gun control that isn't a knee jerk, useless, and emotionally skewed. AWB don't stop a majority of gun violence. Instead of focusing on the outlier, fix the common issues. UBC Training and/or license, that is free or subsidized for lower income people. More social outreach Better access to mental health (with a change in how we treat MH issues) Etc. The number one cause of gun violence in America is socioeconomic disparity and the number one tool is the handgun. But let's attack the scary thing's cosmetic features, just like all AWB do.

Point of order, sir, technically nobody’s brains “exploded”. They were liquefied and pushed through a hole. It was an exaggeration, but the point is that all of these kids went through a traumatic experience and have more of a leg to stand on, not less. Agreed. I want social change in our country, but neither party really wants to change either themselves, or the system. I'm not diminishing the issue- well, not attempting to- but I am tired of neither party doing poo poo but keeping the status quo

bulletsponge13 posted:Buying long guns across state lines is completely legal, with some caveats. She would, in theory, be liable to any damages outlined in the contract if it were doing legally binding. But Trump trying to enforce it would be hilariously dumb. It would prove the hush money was real, opening him up to criminal liability for in-kind campaign contributions. Plus, she's already won the PR war. No matter what Trump tries to do to her, she can turn the knife that much more because she has the upper hand in terms of evidence and also appearing as the sympathetic party. And I'm sure there's plenty of people who would be willing to foot the bill for her legal fees Peter Thiel style.

Well I think Stormy’s ultimate goal is two fold: to keep the story in the media’s eye for as long as possible, and to bait Trump into saying something incriminating towards his case. Maybe a third is to release all the material while netting a huge payday.

But couldn't she break the NDA without breaking it? "One time, a few years ago, I slept with a famous dude, known for ruining his businesses..." As long as she doesn't say names or identifying info, she could theoretically keep it vague, but be specific enough for the wink wink nudge nudge. She's probably doing it safer and smarter, but I want to see this whole thing burn like Cersei did in King's Landing.
