I can 100% recommend Love. After Patriot it is my favorite of all the streaming shows. The pilot is a little rough but everything after is fantastic.

drat. All the reviews are savaging it, but if Daniel Stern is throwing his severed dick at a bad guy, I feel like critics are going to turn their noses up at it.

I got a good laugh from it, but the fight in the kitchen made me squeamish.

Just finished Wild, Wild Country and it was one of the finest documentaries I've ever seen. Herzog-level poo poo.

I walked away from it with the strong opinion that while the leadership of the commune did some despicable poo poo, it was never proven that more than one or two bad apples were involved. What the Oregonians and government did to instigate conflict in the first place was also far more heinous. The prosecution openly gloats at the end that they coerced a guilty plea out of Bhagwan by physically abusing him. It's hard not to believe that all of it was motivated purely out of racial and religious bigotry. The one consolation was knowing that all those old white pieces of poo poo who gloated about "winning" are all dead now. America loving sucks if you aren't white/Christian.

The Outsider was great, very tense at times. It might have been even better if they just didn't subtitle the Japanese dialogue, or only subtitled some of it like the main character was only picking out a few words, but it still handily communicated "Jared Leto is not supposed to be here." That one big dude's weird-shaped head was the actual star of the film. Jared Leto appears not to age.

So I watched Game Over, Man last night.

I liked it on the whole- it's basically Workaholics: The Movie. I... have incredibly mixed feelings about the level of gore in it. I usually like gory movies, and I think most of the violence is pretty much fine for what the movie is, but there's at least one scene (the guy getting his face hosed up with the meat slicer) that straight up made me recoil away from my screen and reminded me of something out of an S. Craig Zahler movie. I don't feel like it hugely detracts from the movie, but it definitely needs some kind of warning attached, because a movie that makes me recoil is going to probably traumatize large chunks of its audience.

I'll agree that it's good, but I can't get over what an rear end in a top hat Gus is. If it wasn't for Birdie and Chris hitting it off, I don't know if I would have been able to finish season 3. (And I still wish Birdie would have ended it with Randy first - she had every reason to even before taking Chris into account.)

Yeah, if someone walks away from that show and thinks that Gus is an rear end in a top hat, then that person has issues going on in their life. There are a lot of assholes in that show, and Gus is maybe the least of them.

My wife binged the entirety of Santa Clarita Diet season 2 yesterday. She'd seen season 1 but I haven't, so I was a bit lost while watching it. It didn't seem too terribly complicated, though, and some of the things they brought about in this season probably answered some Q's I would've had about season 1. I don't know how everyone else feels about that show, but I found it oddly hilarious for what it was. The humor fell flat at times and some of the gorier effects were pretty fake looking - at least to me - but on the whole I'm pretty glad we watched it. Decent setup for another season too, which is gratifying.

For anyone who has seen it, is it worth me going back and watching season 1, or does season 2 do it enough justice?

I read somewhere while Netflix Japan gets it weekly, it doesn't come to America until like 4 months of episodes are built up. Be careful I accidentally spoiled myself researching the show.

Have you watched the other seasons of Terrace House like Boys & Girls in the City?

https://www.netflix.com/title/80067942

I am currently 16 episodes in (it has 28 episodes). It has the same host (outside of the one guest host) which I think make the show. There is also from what I understand the controversial season called Aloha State which takes place in Hawaii. From what I understand most found it too American (good chance I will still watch it).

https://www.netflix.com/title/80131479

There are pre-Netflix seasons of the show that was the same house for 2 years. I think one guy stayed in the house for all 90+ episodes. That said I am not sure how you can watch it. I am hoping Netflix puts it up sooner or later.

Edit: Also I don't watch any other reality shows, but I can't stop watching this. It is my right before bed show.

Shrug. I've kind of been surprised all the positive talk about it in this thread. I tried watching season one, and I found the humor too forced, the acting subpar given the cast, and the tone inconsistent. I think I maybe made it 5 or 6 episodes before giving up.

I'm super late on it, but I just finished and really enjoyed American Vandal on Netflix. While it's, of course, most significantly a comedy, it puts together a way more compelling story and set of characters than I would have expected. Surprisingly naturalistic for something that is, at its core, an opportunity to tell a bunch of dick jokes. Definitely check it out if, like me, you were hesitant that the gag could hold up for a full eight-episode season.

Fun Shoe
The fairly unique thing about Wild Wild Country is that at no point are any of the main players pressed(at least on camera) about their motivations if they didn't want to volunteer that information, and they're never confronted with contradictions or possible falsehoods. Both sides have their hypocrisies, but it's up to the audience to determine what those are and call them out, or not.

For instance, there's never a moment where an interviewer asks Sheela directly about the salmonella lab. You have to make a judgment of her as a person and then come to your own conclusion.
