imo if no one involved in the conversation has ever lived in china, or doesn't have family that lives in china, it's probably a useless conversation. China can be bad without being the exact kind of bad the u.s. is. Anyone claiming otherwise is disingenuous or so full of propaganda they're impossible to reach. Simultaneously, papering over over the flaws in china's socialism might cause us to neglect an important truth - allowing the capitalist class to continue in any way shape or form after revolution will significantly retard the growth of socialism in a country, and may prevent it entirely.
