Found out we lost my grandmother this morning. Glad I got to visit her a few weeks ago at least. Mid 90s and bedridden for years and about 65 pounds; so at least not unexpected.Enourmo posted:At the end of the day I'm a Mechanical Engineering major. So, the correct response to "here's your raise, it's lower than you expected even though you did great this year because you're near the top of your pay window, no I can't tell you what that is, your only chance of a significant raise is your uninterested boss supporting you in your next 3 annual appraisals to a level you haven't seen in the 10 years you've been with us" is to get the CV up to date, right? I'm a little short on fucks to give right now, truth be told. E: guess what discipline I'm in Enourmo?

It's because of people, and there are very few people in the world high enough on the ladder to not have to deal with what other people think should be done. Sorry, that's just life I do believe. As has been pointed out though, the good thing is you get paid for it once you are in the 'real world'.

If so, it'd have to be a fire sale price and I would be trying to jump on one or two.

I guess if they remove the emissions defeat code and prove that they've done so, there shouldn't be a reason they can resell them. They may just have to part them, or export them to somewhere that doesn't give a poo poo.

I ordered a countertop dishwasher using ebay's 20% off code, and it comes in on Monday or Tuesday. I, just, like, don't want to do the dishes by hand anymore. I'm sitting here wondering if I can survive until then without doing them. I hate manually washing dishes - it reminds me of a specific time growing up that I'd rather forget.

It makes me irrationally annoyed when I'm trying to have a professional conversation with a client, and they end every sentence with "sir". "I don't want to do it that way for x reason sir." "We just don't have that kind of funding sir." "I just don't understand why you say that sir." Now, "Yessir" I'm ok with.

So many electrical fittings and bolts that I've now used... Also snapped a wheel stud in half so now I get to do that, too, because I'm shockingly more comfortable with a 5 lug wheel running 4 lugs than a 4 lug wheel with 3.

After driving this Civic in anger I now feel like I wasted the last 15 years of my life never owning one. Jesus loving christ this thing is FUN. Any car that has me laughing like a goddamn maniac before I'm in 3rd gear or breaking the speed limit is a win, but pulling out of a corner in 2nd at 6k with poo poo rear end tires squealing and the car still begging for more like a loving puppy... I wanted a beater, and now I want an LSD and R comps.
