speaking of which, i was at the endorsement meeting for the New Kings Democrats and someone mentioned that there are a bunch of pro-Jesse Hamilton twitter trolls who search for people talking poo poo about him from reading the room, we're probably endorsing Nydia Valezquez (she has no primary challengers but she was the very first elected official to throw her support behind the club), endorsing Zellnor Myrie over Hamilton, and endorsing nobody in the race between Yvette Clarke and her primary challenger Adem Bundedeko

felder apparently has his own primary challenger. his inspiration for running was when they reduced the speed limit on Ocean Parkway to 25 mph and felder tried to increase it back to 30. when a group of people complained to his office, his response was to propose the increase to 35. i live right near an intersection on Ocean and Church Ave that's dangerous because the Prospect Expressway empties onto the parkway, and there are no indications for drivers that they're going into a pedestrian zone. so increasing the speed limit would actually kill people he later dropped the issue entirely, but the fact that he's more than willing to put the lives of his constituents at risk for no apparent reason is as good of an inspiration to run as any

everybody realizes that the last time cuomo "dissolved the IDC" was the last time he was facing a progressive challenger in a re-election year, right? i've heard zellnor myrie speak at two different endorsement meetings and he referred to this deal as the "Discourage Challengers To The IDC Act," which couldn't be more accurate speaking of which, the DSA Brooklyn electoral working group recommended endorsing Julia Salazar, who's stepping up for Debbie Medina in challenging do-nothing, landlord-loving Martin Dilan in the state senate. because of manpower limitations, we chose not to endorse Ross Barkan (who has negative charisma; we may endorse if he gets out of the primary (he probably won't)) or Myrie (who i voted for, but there were concerns about his hesitation to call himself a socialist, his past work with Fernando Cabrera, and his job at a rich law firm, though i think he dealt with answering the latter two things rather well). the vote for Myrie was closer than i expected

i want to volunteer for the guy who's challenging Felder in the primary. his district starts on the south side of the street i live on. it's obviously deliberate because when you walk down there, the amount of orthodox jews living in the houses there increases dramatically. you can still see some occasional bangladeshis and a fair amount of uzbeks, but they're not taken into account for the blatant gerrymandering
