Is there even a good business case for the pipeline? Would it decrease export costs enough to make the tar sands bounce back to levels that would generate enough taxable income to pay off the pipeline? From the numbers I've seen, the whole project seems entirely political and a make-work and confidence-boosting handout to albertan oil workers.

The oil company bet they could get the province to pick up the tab for their expensive infrastructure and that bet is paying off. They know that our poo poo oil won't be profitable for long enough to justify the pipeline, so they're having the poor suckers who live here pick up the tab. gently caress Kinder Morgan, gently caress the ANDP, gently caress this dumb province and every motherfucker in it.

And just lol at threatening to cut off supply to BC, like their cars run on diluted bitumen. That threat might carry weight if we had any secondary industry in this garbage fire province, but nope, just digging poo poo up and shipping it away, then yelling and screaming like dumb babies when global forces make our poo poo worthless.

People are really really dumb and passionate about things they haven't even done 101 level of research on, news at 11. I've heard now from three entirely separate people that a pipeline would help BC because we'd be able to get cheaper gas from alberta. Like the pipeline will just go directly to your local gas station pump and you'll pump that cheap local crude into your car.
