Have you tried it lately? It seems to vary wildly by region. Any part that is common across every year seems to be common enough, various year-range specific poo poo gets a little more finicky. I've only ordered a handful of things through a dealership and there are a lot of NOS OEM parts on ebay.

C'mon over to TG. It's night and day better, got me back in after like 15 years away and I've had fun. Still expensive, but at least the models are fun to play with, and they're doing new stuff. Even promised plastic Sisters of Battle next year or so. :)

The actual rules part of the rules is about 10 pages long now, and most of the individual unit rules are available through something like battlescribe that builds lists and will print the rules with them. Biggest changes since 7e are no more templates, and no more formations. They're about halfway through re-releasing all the codexes for 8e now, doing about 1 a month.

So, I clench my jaw when I'm "idle." Always have. When sleeping, grind my teeth. When awake, have to constantly (constantly!) remind myself to let my jaw loosen up. Like, just had to right now.

Woke up day before yesterday with the worst headache I've ever had. Okay, maybe second worst. Worst was a migraine that came on right as I finished Xenosaga Episode II on the PS2 in my parent's basement. (Hurt so bad it didn't feel like pain anymore, and I threw up, and laid on the concrete floor and thought "this is how I die," but then it resolved a few minutes later and I literally had a "life moment" about how bad it was and how quickly it passed, but I digress). I thought, much like that first migraine, "this is how I die," and I prepared for the worst. The entire left half of my face was swollen a bit (and, still kind of is, even 1.5 days later), and I thought that I honestly had hodgkin's lymphoma or something, because it felt like one lymph node was swollen.

It hurt so bad I just stayed in bed all day, which is something I never really do, even if I'm actually ill. I kept checking my temperature, but was a cool 36.6, so no fever or anything. I did a hydrogen peroxide and white vinegar flush of my ears, just in case it was an ear infection (I had those all the time as a kid).

Apparently it's just a chance that I essentially got a charley horse (muscle spasm/cramp) in my neck/head. Just like a charley horse, it can take a few days for the pain to go away. I can't open my mouth all the way without extreme (an honest 8/10) pain, and life sucks.

Gotta stay hydrated, folks.

Bummer incoming:

On Monday I drove past the scene of a pretty brutal accident. I was on a two lane state highway, 55 mile an hour speed limit. Completely unrecognizable blue pickup truck off the ditch in the opposite lane, and a long set of dually tire marks off into the ditch on my side where a dump truck was overturned.

As soon as I saw what had happened I had that sinking feeling that it was a fatality so I checked our state police page today and yup :smith: pickup truck crossed the centerline and hit a dump truck head on at speed.

Be safe out there guys.

I didn't see it happen, and for some reason it didn't make the news, but I was wondering why both the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) and the access road were closed for about a mile the other day for several hours. Came out of a parking lot a few hundred feet past the closed off area at one point, and was pretty sure I saw a body bag.

Someone posted in Reddit's /r/Dallas asking about it, someone else mentioned they watched a motorcyclist miss the curve and whack the barrier, beginning a very short lived interest in flying lessons. DNT is elevated above the access road in that area (probably a ~16 ft drop). It... went about how you'd expect a motorcycle accident on an elevated road to go during rush hour. splat.

It barely warranted a short blurb in the local news. :sigh: That's the only news article I've been able to find about it.

I've gotten to where I actively avoid DNT unless I have to use it. Partly because I hate using toll roads, mostly because people drive like loving maniacs on it. Speed limit is 55-70 on it (depending where you are), but you can be doing 90+ in the right lane and have someone crawling so far up your rear end that you can't see anything except their roof in your mirror. I've been banging the speed limiter in the middle lane (108 on the Saturd) and still had people blowing past me on both sides (this is generally really late at night). The portions in Dallas and Addison are only patrolled by state troopers, think it may be that way in Plano too; once you get (much) further north (Frisco), city cops will occasionally patrol if they're bored and need to rack up 50 tickets in a few hours.

Get 'em out. Goliaths and Eschers were the starting gangs, Orlocks were just released, as well as the rules for Genestealer Cults and Chaos Cultists. The rest are coming out over the next year or so.

All new plastics for all the gangs, at a ~$40 price point for a gang. The base box is one each of Eschers and Goliaths with rules, tiles, and tokens.

Here's the studio paint on the new Goliaths:

They have parts diagrams and source parts from JP and the UAE. I haven't actually bought any parts from them yet, but they have a bunch of bits that Toyota USA doesn't have. Shipping from JP to US is a bit of change, though. $30 worth of parts, $30 shipping... but they actually have the temperature control cable from my AE86, a common failure point, and some interior trim clips/brackets and bits.
Toyota USA does still have a surprising amount of stuff from a 30 year old car. Not sure about other countries, of course.

Probably Tom Kirby, the CEO who was running the company into the ground to pad his bonuses being forced out of control made them decide to keep it in-house and produce more games and less "jewel-like objects of wonder". Kevin Roundree, the former COO, took over in 2015, and under the direction of 'hey, let's maybe make some games so people want to buy models to play them with' GW's profits have soared.

They also fired most of their social media team and replaced them with the guys who had been running Black Library, and as a result we get great stuff like The Regimental Standard, which is ads and previews written as in-game world Imperial Guard notifications. Very tongue in cheek in a good way.

On the 'making games' side, 40k now gets yearly printed rules updates and bi-yearly rules FAQs rather than terrible rules being the ones in play until the next edition codex overcompensates, so GW can address game balance issues vastly faster. The story is advancing, Primarchs are showing back up, and the fact that the Imperium are not the good guys is being made more obvious to ward off the fascist fanboys.

Go get a Kois Deprogrammer. Its like a night guard, but instead of just giving you a barrier between your upper and lower teeth, it makes it impossible for you to grind your teeth. I grind my teeth and would routinely wake up with killer headaches and teeth hurting, not to mention waking my wife up because the grinding was that loud. My wife has one as well, and before we got them it was a race to see who could fall asleep first so you wouldn't be kept awake by the other persons snoring and teeth grinding. The biggest downside to them is once you get used to using it, you *need* it to sleep.

I ride this freeway transition all the time, and the height plus low barrier still makes me go a fair amount slower than I would if it wasn't elevated. Although at this height it's not even being hit by a car that's going to kill you, I'm pretty sure the fall alone will do that. It's a gentle turn too, nothing too bad, but I have come across poo poo in the road like sand/gravel before.
