Netanyahu's talked to Putin multiple times, and presumably has made it clear that he's targeting weapons transfers to Hezbollah and Iranian forces in the country more than the regime. Russia complains sometimes, but in some ways they might even be happy to have Israel limiting Iranian influence to some extent so they can remain the dominant partner in influencing the regime. Trump, on the other hand, is raving like a maniac and careening wildly between full withdrawal and openly taunting Russia while calling Assad an animal, so he's less predictable and causes more alarm. In general, Trump's temperament is something worth keeping in mind any time anyone wants the US to engage in military action anywhere.
