Finally got a chance to catch the replay of the race, and even though someone spoiled it for me like 20 minutes before I sat down to watch it, I was still delighted by the results. I was absolutely delighted by Dan's brilliant performance. The contrast in his ability to make overtakes stick compared to Verstappen is amazing. Kimi up on the podium and actually volunteering to speak for more than 2 sentences at a stretch was almost as eye opening. Lets not forget Alonso sticking it to Vettel in the final stages. Better than little blue pills. But to be honest, this was the money shot: Lol what a loving fraud. Dan to Ferrari so the scud can actually get a WDC (and a WDC who deserves it) please.

Even if Ferrari didn't get undercut on their pit stop by Mercedes, the safety car would have shaken the race up with RBR able to pit at the right time anyway. Seb is really good out front but I still think Dan could have gotten him anyway. It's the same kind of random gift that allowed Vettel to win because of VSC in Melbourne. This poo poo happens. And gently caress Ted (endlessly) trying to make the "slow ferrari pit stop (copyright Ted Krabsniz 2018)" a thing. Shut up Ted. Anything under 3 seconds is fine.

There are seats at both Mercedes and Ferrari available at the end of this season, right?

Bottas is dropped for being rubbish, Ham quits for a rap career, Vettel admits he's still addicted to red bull (hence the angry outbursts) and is fired for being off brand with his addiction (tabacco). So yes. Only Kimi will keep his seat next year.

Hell if they keep loving around RBR could totally steal one of the titles. In sintesis: Formula One is dead.

Clarence posted:There are seats at both Mercedes and Ferrari available at the end of this season, right? Both Merc seats are up for negotiation. Bottas is absolutely giving Wolff no reason to not extend and make himself (more) mad bank as Bottas' manager and Hamilton is posturing, saying that he won't extend if the car isn't competitive enough to challenge for the title this year. Over at Ferrari, Vettel is an equally man-sized pissbaby and will absolutely veto having somebody young, talented and hungry as his teammate, i.e. Danny Ric.

Ricciardo won't go to Ferrari to be #2. If Raikkonen wraps it up this year my HOT TAKE is Bottas will go to Ferrari and Ricciardo will go to Merc. RBR will pull Gasly forward.

Unless Vettel has a personal meltdown this year where he personally pisses away the WDC (More Singapores plx) then maybe we'll see Ferrari pursuing Ricciardo to be the Numero Uno. I think the Bottas to Ferrari and Ricciardo to Mercedes makes more sense tho tbqh; if Vettel loses the title from here it'll be because Ferrari don't keep pace with the Saturn Rocket that is Mercedes in season development. Why on Earth would Ferrari want Bottas of all people? Kimi is there because he sells T-Shirts and hats, remember this is a team that placed Gutierrez of all people as their reserve driver, and then in haas, so they could get car marketing done in Mexico. Verstappen, Ricciado, Sainz, and Perez all stand a better shot at a Ferrari seat than a Bottas who won’t sell poo poo.

He's a consistent driver who has experience being told what to do but who can also serve as a perfectly capable number one if the 2008 scenario (Kimi hosed up, Massa took over as number one) happens again. He's probably better than Sainz or Perez and he's far more likely to accept being the number 2 than Verstappen or Ricciardo. Schlesische fucked around with this message at 14:40 on Apr 16, 2018 |

I still don't understand how the rule about "leaving space" works in car racing. Alonso completely cut him off there while the car behind him was not behind him yet, it was almost side by side. Cars are stupid.
