It's a small thing, but I'm a fan of the TraffikCam App. The feds use it to crowdsource images of hotel rooms to help track down people like they did above.

I used to know a detective who worked with the a state task force, he was considered an expert in estimating how old a child in a video or photo was and was used as an expert witness.
