He's like an Irish Marv if Marv was a coward and couldn't fight. Some time during the 90s there were a bunch of movies with this guy. I would be surprised if they were ever on the cinema.

No not that grim. David Thewlis looks spot on if maybe a few years too young. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA47TzEeA_4 He seems spot on in most regards except I can't find the movie I'm thinking of. The voice was also closer to Alan Rickman. Katt fucked around with this message at 09:08 on Apr 21, 2018 |

None of these match either. I've spent all morning watching British movie clips on youtube Gangsters... IRA... David Thewlis looking guy with the voice of Alan Rickman-ish. There was a "love" scene in the loosest sense of the word where it just instantly cuts to the day after and the main character half naked sitting up and looking like it was the worst idea ever. And I'm fairly certain he did numerous lead roles at the time within the same theme. It went on TV about the same time as The Boxer did. But not regular TV. Those pay channels that got movies first. Probably not, but maybe James Nesbitt? He did an undercover cop show in the early 2000s (Murphys law), is irish, and looks generally a bit skeevy in some roles. Or, depending how sure you are about the "Irish", if its someone who looks a bit like James Nesbitt you are after, John Hannah? As a bonus, both of them were in a movie in the 90's about the troubles (although neither was the main character): Resurrection Man

My favourite Troubles-related movie is The Long Good Friday which I think is better than most American gangster movies I've seen. I have this theory that Pierce Brosnan's character in that movie grows up to become his character from The Foreigner.

I asked a while ago about a movie but don't think anybody knew it, so I will ask again and see if anyone has any ideas. This is a movie I saw on TV maybe 10+ years ago during this series of programmes Channel 4 in the UK were running under the theme "the dark side of porn". It was about this nebbish, lonely office worker with a pornography addiction who becomes obsessed with making the perfect porn movie and starts filming homemade movies in his apartment and his workplace. He has a relationship with a porn star that ends when he learns she's secretly been filming them having sex. He meets a girl he wants to cast in his movies and becomes romantically involved with her, then films them having sex and sells it to a sleazy adult video producer. When his girlfriend finds out, she goes to the producer to try and get the tape back and the lead follows her with a gun to try and back her up and ends up accidentally shooting her dead. The movie ends with him sitting by himself in the dark watching the movie he shot with her narrating about how he was in jail for five years but he'll never be free. Something like that. There's a scene early in the movie where the lead guy is chatting up a young woman walking her dog in the park and offers to take her to a musical, then when he comes back later with the tickets her brothers are there and threaten him because he didn't realise she's actually 16.

Republicans posted:What was the name of that stupid Burt Reynolds movie with the robot spiders that inject you with acid? I feel like that's ready for a remake. A few more I've always wondered about. 2 A hero guy where in a scene they were throwing a football as a weapon for some reason but I think if it hit someone it knocked them out. It was space age stuff and I think the bad guy in the scene was dressed like some Chinese emperor and he may have had blue blood. Later in the scene the hero gets hit by the football and might have ended up knocked out. 80s or earlier 3 An action movie set in some post apocalyptic style world where there's like a maze people are put into and they have to fight for their lives to get through the maze. It has like spikes shooting out from the walls and a pool of acid and there's also a huge machine chasing people in it. I think the hero eventually destroyers the machine by shooting it with a grenade launcher. It had a very "barter town" feeling to it with the environment. It was not "The Running Man" Most certainly 80s Katt fucked around with this message at 10:00 on Apr 23, 2018 |

Don't think it's Battletruck. It's not a maze but some corporate lab, but people get chased by the titular Death Machine.

Maybe not a maze but hallways and the roof was open and there was an audience watching as people made their way through the gauntlet and tried to get out alive. I remember the acid pit was white and it emphasized the bones floating around in it. The machine that followed people was like a truck with grindy parts in the front and it was meant to keep people moving through the killer maze.
