Supercharger's looking functional, mounted laterally on a longitudinal engine, with no belt driving it

My buddy runs a body shop and he has a fleet of late 90s Corollas he rents for $10/day /loans/uses as shuttles. Sure it costs him maintenance, insurance, space but he is able to provide low-cost transportation to folks who are paying out of pocket for repairs and/or don't qualify for traditional rentals. It's been a net-positive to his bottom line for over 10 years.

There is a rental chain here that buys old rental cars after other rental agencies have used them up, hires an actual mechanic to fix them, and rents them out for basically half price. I've always been happy with their cars, and once in awhile they have a manual transmission because they found a good deal on it at auction.
