The game seems to crash every time I complete a mission without an enemy mech. Is there a console command to just kill everything so I don't have to replay the mission?

Think my general strategy is: 1 Grasshopper with max JJs and filled out with MLs and SLs to explode light mechs and put the hurt on other idiots who come close / tank shots by jumping everywhere and hitting brace. 3 fire support mechs with lurms, LL/MLs, and PPCs. Jagermech's a little bit too fragile for me and there aren't any good ballistic boat mechs until the super heavy tonnage. I did manage to headshot a Highlander and grab one for free though.

The Grasshopper is basically two Firestarters in a trenchcoat standing on each other's shoulders and it fuckin' owns.

I have yet to lose anyone yet, but I got reaaaaaal close during the attack on Pinzler story mission. I'm surprised nobody is talking about this mission. I beat it on the last turn available. By far the hardest mission so far

i felt like a pretty stone cold bad rear end chewing through missions like no tomorrow with enough credits banked to last me 18 months and most of my argo upgraded outside of tier 3 habitat and mech bays then i did served cold and all the missions seem to be 3+ skulls and im facing like six heavy mechs at a time, should i just field only heavies now or what

Are PPCs pronounced letter by letter or do you call them like peepecks or something? I like that better than lurms.

King Doom posted:Can someone explain the point of the precision strike ability? I have a pilot with guns 8 right now, and I never get above 15% to hit. If it was a guaranteed critical or whatever I could understand it being so tricky to aim, but it's just a normal shot that might sorta maybe possibly hit a location near somewhere you might maaaaaaybe want shot. Am I missing something? is there a trick to it or what? or is it really just that bad? It gives a moderate bonus to hit, which you likely don't need at Gunnery 8, and it also lets you do a called shot at any time instead of just when an enemy is knocked down or shut down. It also knocks them back 1 initiative level, so that you can maybe guarantee moving again before they do. For the called shot itself, your chance to hit the segment you want is impacted by your target's facing (If you are shooting at the left side arc, you have a way way higher chance to hit the left leg or left torso), and your tactics skill. High Tactics (I think it's 6 or 7) gives a buff to called shot locations so that a 33% chance to hit a torso becomes a 50% chance, or something along those lines. My PC was in the medbay 80 days then immediately got shot in the face again for another 30 day visit. Glitch took a few hundred missiles to the head and somehow isn't dead, so good job her. I keep almost not blowing up mechs then doing that last second too. I have a dozen different mech parts. e: I have a spare Spider so I'm giving sensor lock another shot. Is there anything better to do with this than run up, lock, and hide? If it tries to fight it's hosed. I know they can hop in and out to melee but trying that just leads to them being shot down after the punch. RBA Starblade fucked around with this message at 05:48 on Apr 27, 2018 |

Game is good. I finished the Prison mission this morning and then abandoned the plot to cruise around the Galaxy - found a system with an LRM15++ and 20++ with buffed stability damage for sale and stuffed them into the freebie Centurion and by god does it put mechs on the ground. I very shortly had a convoy intercept mission that had a full-armor ON1-K escort but thanks to Lurmageddon combined with a leg shot or two managed to eek out a pilot kill. My new Orion now has an AC20++ with a +crit mod (not sure exactly what that does, +damage when hitting structure?) and it is so much fun blapping anything short of a heavy that gets too cocky. What isn't cool, though, is running into multiple carriers and a freaking DEMOLISHER and then immediately getting flanked by a full Lance of mediums. RIP Glitch. Got through the moon mission with minimal damage, most of it from me overheating my blackjack in an alpha strike because the pirate was trying to focus down glitch's arm, and Ill be hosed if I lose weapons when repairs are just days away. Now I have a centurion I stuck 3 SRM 6s on just to see what happens lol

All your enemies have titles based on their pilot skills, that's how you can tell if someone's going to just sit there and Bulwark all day or run around and spam Sensor Scan on you once they're out of LoS etc.

After like 20 hours I finally scrapped together a heavy mech that isn't a Dragon; I'm so happy! It's an Orion-V, and it's beautiful. I haven't gotten to use it yet though, because I needed to hammer my poor medium lance back into fighting shape before its refits can come down the pipe. I went into a 3 skull with 4 medium mechs, because gently caress it, how else will I ever salvage any heavy chassis? Well there were heavies a-loving-plenty to be had in that mission! The main objective was to kill the Orion, a Grasshopper and two very sneaky Demolishers. It turns out Demolishers can have multi-target and breaching shot! Isn't that a fun thing to learn mid-mission! I negotiated for a ton of salvage betting on running into something good, so I went to work picking the Grasshopper apart; and with a lot of effort we did! A head hit, two knock downs and two blown side torsos it took to kill that loving pilot. I WORKED for those 3 pieces, and didn't get to keep NONE OF 'EM, because about that time, here come the reinforcements: A Quickdraw, a Jaegermech, and a Gryphon, all in perfect repair. I just said 'gently caress it', cleaned up the Orion and the Demolishers real quick and hit the withdraw button before I lost everybody. At least I got to pick one piece of salvage, so I finished that Orion up! Then I went into a 2.5 skull mission that was literally a Wolverine and a Myrmidon and NOTHING ELSE. Ah, the mercenary life. Also, I hired a Scottish woman named Stinky to shoot robots, this game just keeps getting better.

Really enjoying the game so far, got three Assaults (including a King Crab! Seeya, Blackjack!) and a 'scouting' heavy (Quickdraw, to be replaced by a Grasshopper when I can get my greedy mitts on one) with a Tac2 pilot, so I'm basically set for life. Now I'm just searching for rare/star league gear and taking enough c-bills to maintain my 20M warchest. Are there any systems with guaranteed cool crap in their store, or is it totally randomized? Already did Grave Robber, mainly hoping for some LPLs or ERPPCs, although at this point I'll buy almost anything with plusses next to it's name unless I already have like five.
